I should have read the reviews 85% give Yorkshire Bank 1 Star rating on Trustpilot they cant all be wrong. I switched from RBS some 8 weeks ago and am still waiting for Yorkshire Bank to open a currency and savings account. My Euro account is frozen with RBS as it is no longer linked to a current account, my only option is to move it to a new currency account with Yorkshire Bank and I am unable to issue any Euro invoices as I do not have bank account details for payments. If I could switch back I would do. HEED THE REVIEWS

Poor internet banking, poor customers service

The internet system is slow, clunky and often unresponsive. I've tried 3 times to talk to a business account adviser, with no success. When we first started banking with YB things were much, much better.

Cost to bankruptcy?

Ordered card with new name and it was lost and money taken out. Reordered with new pin and same happened again. Reordered to branch and somebody collected it before opening without ID and even more money was taken out (£100s).

After months of problems with the online banking system and wasting so much time dealing with issues, being passed around from person to person, they've just made their system incompatible with Xero Accounting software - you can no longer get automatic bank feeds. Not only that their mobile app is not compatible with our mobile phones (Google Pixel 3a). Why? It's standard android! I have no confidence in their online systems and cannot run my company with such bad support - so will be taking my business elewhere.

I was with Yorkshire bank for years in the 1970s/80 s and they were rubbish, I have a isa account now with Virgin money , Clydesdale and Yorkshire bank takeover and what happens, my isa goes from a poor 1.2 percent to.5 percent. What a load of rubbish. Time to find another decent bank. Good riddance.

If you join this bank you will regret it. This bank are without doubt the worst, most incompetent and breathtakingly useless bank that exists in the UK today. You can expect no security for your money (my account was hacked) an antiquated system of complaints, a diabolically bad online banking service that never works, terrible customer service where EVERYTHING must be done in a branch. Rude staff, no return calls, or emails ever. You will save yourself months of hassle not joining this bank. There is a reason why they are rated so badly and quite frankly, I cannot believe they are still trading such is the way they treat their customers. I am issuing County Court proceedings on them.

Just been joined them in Oct 2018 and can't access my account online or mobile App the pay my bills. Have telephoned them several times and got very little help in sorting the problem out. Put in 3 Online Complaints and just been told this from YB:
We deal with complaints in date order received to treat customers fairly, and then in a fair and prompt manner. We will write to you within the next 4 weeks with an update on your complaint or with a final response.
That means i still can't pay any business invoices till 2019, if then its sorted.

We switched to Yorkshire Bank after a 20 year relationship with Barclays that turned sour when we were denied a small, short-term overdraft facility. Yorkshire's sign-up procedure was all very positive and their online services work well but we have had similar problems in accessing finance and a lack of relationship management. We are likely to change supplier this year.

Attempting to set up a business account.
On the face of it this seemed like a really good idea but having weeks later not completed the process I would not recommend this to anyone! The staff on the phone appear very helpful - however it has been a nightmare setting this account up for the following reasons
They took 2 weeks to send through an application
They lost my application even though it was handed in with proof of posting at a post office
I had to go to Picadilly Circus to hand in a second application which wasted 1/2 a day
This still took 2 weeks to process
The account opening letter had a mistake in the account number which I gave to a mortgage company causing a lot of hassle and inconenience
I received am email with another reference on it and wasted 1/2 and hour on the phone until I was told to call business banking on Monday - so the business banking has really limited hours unlike other banks
I was told to make a payment to activate the account and that was returned and failed to activate the account even though it was to the correct account number
When I applied for an account I specifically applied for on-line banking (as otherwise what would be the point of having an account living in London when the branches are in Yorkshire!!!!!!!!!!) I was told that was fine someone would call me. No-one did. I spoke to them several times and now have to fill in a load of new paperwork.
So the whole thing has turned into a joke - only these people are supposed to be entrusted with my money!!

If you want to have a negative effect on your business go near these guys. Absolutely dire service and systems.

Before even considering opening an account I suggest calling theme and waiting through the 20+ minute voice mail, then have a discussion with an employee who has no interest in their job ( it's a common theme).
