Thank You, NatWest for a Truly Outstanding Service!

I don’t think banks get the appreciation they truly deserve, especially when they’ve already taken steps to protect you before you even realise you’ve made a mistake. NatWest did exactly that for me, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Everyone most always leave bad reviews about their banks and take for granted the things they do above and beyond for you and do not asked to be thanked. Here’s what happened: I’m registered with PayPal and had received some much-needed funds which I intended to transfer to my NatWest Reward Account to meet urgent payment deadlines. Without thinking twice, I logged into PayPal, went through the withdrawal process, and transferred the money. Only after PayPal confirmed the transaction as “complete” did I log into my NatWest account to make my payments—only to see that my balance hadn’t changed. That’s when I remembered: I had cancelled my old debit card about a month earlier and been issued a new one. Since PayPal uses your card details for withdrawals, the money had been sent to a card that no longer existed. My heart sank. I immediately called PayPal, who confirmed the funds had already been sent and that NatWest would likely reject the transaction and return the funds automatically. Otherwise, I’d need to contact the bank myself to trace and request the return. It sounded like a process that would take days—time I didn’t have. While on hold with NatWest (for no more than three minutes), I logged into my online banking just in case they needed any details from me. But to my surprise—and immense relief—NatWest had already credited the funds directly into my account. No delays. No fuss. No need to chase anything up. Because of that, I was able to make all my payments on time and avoid the embarrassment of calling my creditors to explain a delay. Needless to say, I also took the opportunity to update my debit card details on PayPal to prevent this happening again. I’m genuinely so impressed and thankful for NatWest’s efficiency, forward-thinking, and seamless support. You turned what could’ve been a stressful few days into a non-issue, and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Thank you, NatWest Team—you’re amazing! Read more Read less

Very poor customer service.

Very poor customer service. Setting up a business bank account is virtually impossible with inconsistent information, poor case management and a general lack of communication and progress

I ordered travel money from NatWest as their website suggested that specific denominations were possible. I explained to the agent that I only wanted small bills and he advised that it wasn’t a problem although there may be a small variation. The currency was delivered promptly but the composition was nothing like I ordered and the notes are pretty useless.now. Don’t bother if you are in a similar position. Read more Read less

Been a customer for 17 years, mortgage etc. Gone down hill since managers disappeared from branches, now you deal with a group over the phone who deal with various clients and have to be reminded of who you are. Lending team don’t seem to know what they are doing, every time any form of finance needs to be applied for, multiple proofs required and provided followed by requests for more proofs of the same. I applied for a loan 10 days ago and they are still asking for the same. The very fact I have one of these accounts alone states that I have the required income but no, not with NatWest. Long story short, HSBC Premier better in every way, thankfully I transferred my pension elsewhere due to the issues NatWest presented me with at that time. AVOID Read more Read less

Had to make use of the mobile insurance cover for the first time - what a breath of fresh air when it came to service from start to finish. From initial claim online and a follow up call to speak to someone to clarify a few concerns about my data privacy and phone content (no wait time to speak to someone, and all questions answered) the phone was collected the very next day by DPD and returned within 3 working days - with enough updates along the way that I never once had to worry about the progress. I'm genuinely impressed with how well I was looked after. If only everything could be this simple! Read more Read less

I opened a student bank account in 2015 and I kept it open. Whenever I would visit the UK I would put money in it. In 2024 when I went to visit I get the news that they closed my bank account and I couldn't retrieve the money. I had to file in paper and didn't hear back from them. In 2023 they decided that my country is one of the countries they no longer want to work with and only sent 1 email that I missed informing me that I have 6 months to take my money out. They didn't call me to inform me and didn't send any further emails. In 2024 I was chocked when I went in person to the bank and was told there is no department to talk to about this. Now it's been me calling them I have spend more than 200$ worth of phone bills and I was told now they cannot find the money or my account! The only means of contact with them is via international calls or letter which never seem to arrive. My country is at the brick of war and my money is stolen by Nattiest. Read more Read less
