I have two business accounts with Tide and have recommended several friends and family with businesses (and took advantage of the £50 referral bonus!) any issues I’ve had at all with Tide are resolved quickly and effectively with their chat app, they’re also extremely helpful on the phone. My last experience with them was upgrading my account to benefit from the change in fees and cash back, the customer service agent was brilliant and thorough explaining all the options so I was able to make a decision. We have operated a Tide Ltd Company account for over 2 years, today without any prior notice or giving a reason they closed our account, one week before Christmas, we had payments going into the account today rejected, and staff to pay for Xmas etc in the coming days, in my opinion this is not a proper bank, they do not offer any services that a normal bank do, customer service is non existent, the only time they contact you is when trying to upgrade you to a more expensive option, their messages service is useless often taking hours or even days to respond I would advise to avoid at all costs. 5 years of unhappiness

I am with Tide Bank since 2019. I am a Tide Plus member. The journey has not been that good so far. The debit card issued was not accepted by many merchants especially at petrol pumps. This is now resolved in 2024 after making numerous complaints and perhaps by many customers. I just have been a victim of fraud through debit card. The transaction took place without my knowledge and Tide Bank has been very-very slow in taking action on it. It has been over 2 months. I get phone calls from their Sales Team to upgrade the account but when I am a victim of fraud, their team ask me on email if they can call me. How bizarre is this!! Recently, I made payments to my regular suppliers and paid salary. All the beneficiaries bank accounts showed my personal name instead of my Busniess Name. This is so appalling and unacceptable. A lot many times my cleints struggle to find my business name when they have to make a payment via BACS from their bank, I receive screenshots from my customers alerting that the Sort Code and Account Number I provide for Tide bank doesn't match. At this stage, I have to advise my customer to pay £1 and I will confirm its receipt and then they can make me the remaining payment. In conclusion, I am not a happy customer/member of Tide. There are various flaws in their system and they are too late in addressing them. Reviewed on: 22nd November 2024

This is not a bank, it is a circus!

They are spamming my inbox with usless emails about their services and offers at least twice a week. When I wrote to them asking to stop, they gave me 24 hours on a weekend to click on a dodgy link, provide a scan of my ID and other sensitive information just to CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION! Not to mention that they changed my business account details from my business name, to my personal name. May as well have a personal account. This is not a bank, it is a circus! Stay away from this company

If your looking for a company that are there if you need support don’t use Tidy average response time about 16 hours, there telephone support is more like an answering service can’t help at all. I’ve had countless problems and even after all of that I thought it would be ok so I ordered a card machine which ups failed to deliver and expected me to collect it from the depot as they had no drivers. Once I had the card machine went through the motions of setting it up it failed to set up and is now stuck on a setup page, 36hours later still no further forward and it’s now costing my company sales as I am unable to take card payments. All I get from support is I have escalated it to the tech team you will just have to wait. No idea of time scale or any idea what they are actually doing. Ridiculously slow and bad service.

Ridiculously slow and bad service. Holds the money for no reason and do not allow them to be transferred. Even with a pro-plan, the customer rep (Rimas Ayddim) is EXTREMELY slow to respond and offers no help. In the time taken to get a response from them, I have been able to write a 1-star review across all platforms and still doest not hear from them. Reviewed on: 10th September 2024

I'm paying for the Tide plus service, which is supposed to give telephone based support. What actually happens is that you ring and someone takes a message that gets answered by email on the app at some point in the future. Terrible support service

I don’t recommend wasting your time on this—the worst support service I’ve ever encountered. In one week of active correspondence and 10 long emails, I couldn’t get Patrick W* from the onboarding team to tell me what documents were needed to complete the process. I’m serious, this would be funny if it weren’t so sad. Imagine a support team that responds without reading your previous messages, ignoring direct answers to your direct questions. It feels like you’re being trolled or talking to a wall. I’ve collected a series of memes to capture this experience, like: “We must understand that you are conducting a commercial activity, so please provide us with a certificate of sale of the apartment.” (But I didn’t sell the apartment! I clearly stated this in previous correspondence and have already provided all the necessary explanations and documents for my business activity, my business is not related to the sale of apartments and I have already provided documents and given detailed explanations about the origin of funds for my SaaS startup.) My direct and repeated requests to switch to another “specialist” were ignored. Think carefully and read reviews (especially bad ones, as they are usually honest) before trusting someone with your hard-earned money. Listen to your intuition. Otherwise, at best, you will waste a week of nerves and give your documents into the hands of unknown people, which do not inspire confidence at all. Reviewed on: 14th July 2024

Tried accessing my bank app to try and get my pin reminder and yet again the bank messes up and kicks me out of the app and have to re-register yet again. Requested 3 calls backs already today and funnily enough nobody will call back. No matter what you try, they will do things in their own time regardless of them being at fault for this. Genuinely, avoid this bank as communication is so poor from this company and the willingness to actively help is non-existent. Unreliable Service from Tide Business Bank I strongly advise against relying on Tide Business Bank: Our business account was inexplicably put on hold at a critical time when we needed to pay salaries and receive payments. Despite our urgent attempts to contact their support team through calls and messages over three days, we received no response. The stress and frustration of not being able to fulfill financial obligations were overwhelming. Eventually, we discovered that the account hold was due to a routine check to confirm the nature of our business and the legitimacy of our payments – information we had already provided during account setup. This lapse in their internal processes caused significant disruption and could have been easily avoided. Their poor handling and lack of communication put our business at serious risk. I do not recommend Tide Business Bank for small businesses. The inability to access funds for several days can severely impact your operations and damage your business reputation.
