Account frozen and no ability to unfreeze

It's payday for our employees and we can't access our bank. Tide froze it with no notice 'for safety and security'. Won't release access under... Hiding behind usual 'could be a scam!' crap - impossible to make progress with them. 3 days and counting and now the business can't operate and the staff can't make rent.     Registering for a Tide account was a breeze, the process was simple and self explanatory, I was accepted promptly and received my new bank card... Registering for a Tide account was a breeze, the process was simple and self explanatory, I was accepted promptly and received my new bank card within a few days. The only downside is they don't print business name on the bank card but your personal name. Otherwise they offer great value and rates above and beyond other what other banks offer and the app is great makes managing everything so simple and easy. Read more Read less

    DO NOT USE TIDE.

    DO NOT USE TIDE. At a very crucial point of my business, I cannot access my Tide account. I have received no response from them... DO NOT USE TIDE.     By far, this is one of the worst banking services I have ever used. My experience has been poor from the start. They had the... By far, this is one of the worst banking services I have ever used. My experience has been poor from the start. They had the audacity to keep incoming payments pending due to internal processes, although I had provided the required information multiple times to multiple advisors. This resulted in financial implications for me as an individual. The worst part came last week when I realized I was completely unable to make any payments. My funds are currently inaccessible—no card payments, no transfers to my personal account, and no ability to pay invoices. Thousands of pounds are stuck, and I have been chasing this issue with multiple advisors for the past four days. It turns out that the team supposedly responsible for resolving this only works Monday to Friday. At no point have I been given a timeline for when I can expect this to be resolved, nor have I received a clear explanation as to why it happened. The only response I get from agents is that they are "chasing it for me." Furthermore, I now risk late payment fees, as I have been unable to move funds from my business account with Tide to cover direct debits linked to my personal account. This situation is completely unnecessary and unethical. It is unacceptable for a financial institution entrusted with business accounts to fail its customers this way. Read more Read less

    I am incredibly dissatisfied with Tide and their service. They have wasted my valuable time with unnecessary bureaucracy and a complete lack of efficiency. As... As a business owner, time is critical, and Tide has proven to be anything but business-friendly. Their customer support is unhelpful, the account setup process is unnecessarily complicated, and the overall experience has been frustrating. Tide claims to cater to businesses, but my experience suggests otherwise. I cannot recommend Tide to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient banking service. Avoid them if you value your time and need a seamless experience for your business operations. Read more Read less

    We have operated a Tide Ltd Company account for over 2 years, today without any prior notice or giving a reason they closed our account,... We have operated a Tide Ltd Company account for over 2 years, today without any prior notice or giving a reason they closed our account, one week before Christmas, we had payments going into the account today rejected, and staff to pay for Xmas etc in the coming days, in my opinion this is not a proper bank, they do not offer any services that a normal bank do, customer service is non existent, the only time they contact you is when trying to upgrade you to a more expensive option, their messages service is useless often taking hours or even days to respond I would advise to avoid at all costs.     5 years of unhappiness

    I am with Tide Bank since 2019. I am a Tide Plus member. The journey has not been that good so far. The debit card... I am with Tide Bank since 2019. I am a Tide Plus member. The journey has not been that good so far. The debit card issued was not accepted by many merchants especially at petrol pumps. This is now resolved in 2024 after making numerous complaints and perhaps by many customers. I just have been a victim of fraud through debit card. The transaction took place without my knowledge and Tide Bank has been very-very slow in taking action on it. It has been over 2 months. I get phone calls from their Sales Team to upgrade the account but when I am a victim of fraud, their team ask me on email if they can call me. How bizarre is this!! Recently, I made payments to my regular suppliers and paid salary. All the beneficiaries bank accounts showed my personal name instead of my Busniess Name. This is so appalling and unacceptable. A lot many times my cleints struggle to find my business name when they have to make a payment via BACS from their bank, I receive screenshots from my customers alerting that the Sort Code and Account Number I provide for Tide bank doesn't match. At this stage, I have to advise my customer to pay £1 and I will confirm its receipt and then they can make me the remaining payment. In conclusion, I am not a happy customer/member of Tide. There are various flaws in their system and they are too late in addressing them. Read more Read less
