Opened a regular saver account at 6.50% had 14 days to deposit money into the account they never sent me a activation code then they closed my account.

    Great little local building society that still puts customer service at the heart of what it does. You actually get to speak to a person rather than a bot!!!

    Long distance support - fantastic support.

    I took over my mum’s finances in 2018 using a LP of A. The Poynton and Stockport branches have been of considerable support throughout. My... My mum sadly died at the end of 2024 and again the customer support has been fantastic. Knowledgeable and friendly all staff have given me support when I was floundering.     Vernon are easy to use and offer some good savings products. The only issue is they prevaricate over whether to be ‘locals only’ or to... Vernon are easy to use and offer some good savings products. The only issue is they prevaricate over whether to be ‘locals only’ or to allow investors from the whole country. The same savings account can switch over its life - although once a ‘non-local’ is in they stay in that account. But they might not be allowed into other accounts. Read more Read less
