Best bank in UK

Researched ethical savings in UK and decided that Triodos offers the best options. My Pioneer Fund ISAs have performed extremely well, and am pleased to invest in a bank which cares about sustainability and ethics. Reviewed on: 4th February 2020

Good phone communication

I have always experienced good and, very importantly, fairly prompt responses on the phone when I have (in particular) needed to clarify various things regarding my savings account regarding transferring money from my Mum's estate and out of it. I also got friendly and prompt responses at the period I was trying to open a Triodos current account, however you were ultimately unable to help as the only way was via the mobile phone App which never worked. I was told another way might become possible but heard nothing later on. At the moment am quite satisfied with my Nationwide current account so I haven't recently pursued it, but it was extremely frustrating over the couple of months I was trying. As a bank that defines itself by its ethics, it doesn’t just talk the talk. Website, customer service and banking choices don’t just make you feel good about your money. Easiest way to divest your savings from fossil fuels

All the savings accounts at Triodos invest only in projects that are doing some good in our country & the world. Their app is easy to use. Their interest rates are not the highest on the market if you are just looking at ££, but if you look at value in the broader sense - if you want to take good care of the people and nature around you - then they are much better value than any other bank available in the UK. Easy to use and money wisely invested - easiest way to divest your savings from fossil fuels. Reviewed on: 15th April 2025
