Change to a much cheaper Car Insurance that does not treat you like trash to make money on. We havebeen with the COOP insurance 24 years , only claim minor claim 9 years ago. They changed their system from automatic renewal to having to renew. We didn’t read the 15 page quote fully , who does , so we didn’t know. We phoned a day after the deadline and all they would then offer is an inflated price £650 (Instead of £350 that we have now got else where) AND it HAD to be paid upfront not monthly. We were now not insured so couldn't drive the car. When we complained they would not budge , we were a day late , asked to escalate it- they said it can take 3 days. Next level wouldn’t budge said it would take up to 5 days for customer services to come back but it would be a waste of time as they wouldn’t do anything. So we had no choice and got a quote and paid for it on Line to be insured that day at £300 cheaper on monthly payments we could afford. The CO OP ceased being an insurance company in 2001 and is just an overly expensive , rip off sales team. They used to provide a good service at a reasonable cost. This is no longer so. Me and my wife are getting on now the car is vital. My wife was not at all well but as the insured name had to deal with all the unpleasant calls which was very upsetting for her. She wasn’t keen on me writing this because she doesn’t like the public conflict. These are the people that the COOP take advantage off. We have seen so much of National Institutions in this country,like the CO OP,that were founded on helping people with lower incomes ; become just money grabbers and exploiters. Breakdown cover via bank account with RAC. Very poor service and have to wait till tomorrow now for home recovery and need car. RAC USELESS

We had to unfortunately have the older dog put down this week, due to becoming very ill quickly. Contacted CO Op the next day to discuss, to be told that due to her age , they was nothing covered. They have happily taken 000's of pounds in premiums with no intention. When asked why then insure an elderly dog, just was said it is in the wording. When cancelling the policy there intermated that really over the age of 7 the dogs is getting old, however would we like to continue cover for our other dog. Read more Read less

Had trouble finding telephone number for co-op car insurance didn't know there was more than one company.Eventually got through to someone to say we wanted to change vehicle it's paid on a monthly installment.We was told it's going from £33 per month to over £100 a month and the annual renewal would be over £1000 having been with the company for over 10 years found it to be unbelievable as having already checked on compare web site and got quotes for about £360 so told the co-op we would cancel policy and was then told £50 cancellation fee not satisfied with charging astronomical price which we didn't go with then charged £50 for cancelling.New policy taken out with compare the market charges £10 for cancelling policy.
