Insurance claim

In the space of 3 months, I was involved in 2 car accidents, the first being someone drove into the back of me and the second someone reversed into the side of me. The second claim was dealt with so quickly, I was always told of any changes and constantly received emails or phone calls of any updates. This claim was opened and closed with 3/4 months. The first claim is still going on now, it has been 3 years in September. We get absolutely no updates and when we ring asking for updates we get updated and told we will be contacted within the next week or two and hear nothing. So two completely different stories which make this company hard to rate, hence the stars. Reviewed on: 15th July 2017

I have had to contact Elephant a few times regarding renewal of my insurance policy. Any time I have contacted the team they are always very friendly and helpful. They took the stress out of the procedure and I found it very quick and stress-free. Reviewed on: 9th July 2017

Simple not at fault claim made ridiculously difficult

My son had a "not at fault" accident over 3 months ago when someone ran into the back of his car. He reported the incident to Elephant who the put him in contact with a third party company to handle his claim. He had to sign a credit agreement with this company that effectively made him responsible for all costs if they failed to recover the costs. He did this and an agreement was made swiftly with the insurer of the person who hit him and a settlement figure agreed. My son now is having to chase the insurer of the driver who hit him to try and get his money, Elephant and their repair management company Auxilis are nowhere to be seen in all of this. He still hasn't received a penny and has been without a car for three and a half months. In my experience your insurance company should deal with the whole process from start to finish including securing the agreed payment. Elephant and their management partners are shocking, truly disgraceful and we are currently looking at taking some legal action and escalating this just on principal. Reviewed on: 21st December 2016

What amazing service, and at great prices!

I was feeling incredibly stressed at the prospect of renewing my car insurance this year, as last year I had a crash. Elephant automatically renewed my car insurance and it was a little higher than quotes I'd found elsewhere. So after ringing them and speaking to one of the nicest phone operators I've ever come across, I was quickly and easily refunded the difference between what Elephant had charged me and the cheaper quote that I had found online. It was all done within minutes and for the first time ever, I came away from a phone conversation with an insurance company feeling happy! Thank you elephant! Reviewed on: 5th November 2016

Not trustworthy

Rang up to join Elephant, gave all details over phone very clearly, rang a few months later to update address, they had somehow changed my lisence number in the process of supposedly changing address meaning I was technically uninsured for a long period of time. When I rang to add my partner to the policy I found out my address was never changed - when I rang they said they would see I had rang to change my address but it was never actioned properly. Stayed with this company for an extra year because they were willing to drop the price to match a better quote from another company. However, they were quick to blame me when I got into an accident so they wouldn't have to pay out and got quite rude when I tried to disagree! Reviewed on: 26th August 2016
