I paid insurance for years on four essential appliances — TV, washing machine, fridge and freezer — purely for peace of mind. When my TV failed, I was left waiting for three weeks for a repair that never happened, followed by another week of delays and endless phone calls for a replacement. In the end, I received less than half the real market value of the insured item and was expected to pay the difference myself. This company’s service is misleading, stressful, and completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this insurer. I have now cancelled my contract. Reviewed on: 28th May 2026

Absolute Sharks are a total ripoff.

Absolute Sharks are a total ripoff. Please read the small print, as they don't cover you for accidental breakdowns. Charged me for the call out £84.00, tried to cancel my contract, only to be told it completes in August. Yes, the company can't spell customer, let alone deliver it to its customer I advise going to a reputable company like Domestic and General, which is far superior to this cowboy outfit. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE OUT A POLICY WITH THIS COMPANY.They take your money and consistently deny claims. Absolute disgusting service. Absolute joke of a company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, LOOK AT THE REVIEWS. I have just wasted £348 this year and they have refused to solve my claims. I didn't want to give any stars but i had to so that I could write this review. This company is a rip off

I have had a terrible experience with a call handler called Jim today! I brought my cover over 3 months ago for 3 appliances, paid upfront! On Sunday I made a claim for the washing machine - loud drum & tumble dryer - leaking seal by the door, because I put the 16/08 instead of the 14/08 as an accident for the day of the fault, the company have told me I must get my own engineer to fix the fault to the drum! It was a simple mistake regarding a date of the fault! This company is clearly ripping people off! I wish I read the reviews before taking out the policy! Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

Hidden fees!

Took out 3 for 2 appliance insurance only to be told 3 months later if no fault found electrical or mechanical there would be a cost between £77-£144 this cost is payable if you miss the engineer visit. Spoke to someone today about this turns out this information is NOT on the terms and conditions!!! Hidden fees when the website stated NO HIDDEN FEES! absolutely disgusting conning people with false information! Also been told cannot cancel as I'm well over 14 days cooling off period and when I mentioned I have got a right to cancel I was then asked were in the terms and conditions does this say. I had to point out where! Finally cancelled I hope! Reviewed on: 21st May 2021
