Review of the Ladybird, Car Insurance:

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Took out insurance with Ladybird as read decent reviews on Trustpilot. They wanted every type of documentation including a V5 document which I have never been asked for in 30 years of insuring vehicles. The lease company never this so had to apply to DVLA to get a copy. This arrived today after two months and sent it across straight away. Ladybird have erroneously stated that I purchased the car December 2022 when in fact I have leased the car since December 2021 and have requested an additional £175 payment. Their reasoning is that the time the vehicle is owned impacts the premium. 1, I don’t own the car, I lease it. They know this. 2, The date I leased it is December 2021. They know this, I told them. 3, The date they have is wrong. 4, The length of time you own or lease a car has no bearing on your premiums. The age and value of your vehicle does. Very Disappointed

I got a policy with a ladybird 3 days ago. My car had an expired MOT and was advised to have sorted in 7 days. I took the car for MOT and it failed and decided to cancel the Insurance policy after a day online as I had decided to look for a new car. I had initially deposited £110. I was told I had a balance of £52.60 to pay again. Insurance that I cancelled within a day of purchasing. Before the 7 days window period. This company is a big scam. Please stay away from them. Payed £102 deposit and tried cancelling in the 14 day cooling period, they said they have no such thing, they tried keeping my 102£ and making me pay £72 more to cancel. Avoid this company at all costs. Reviewed on: 17th December 2022

Scam

Money grabbing, dishonest company. They lyre you in with a low price, then send an email that doesn't contain all the information you need. We ended up ringing them 4 times to try and work out what documents they wanted. They ask for obscure things that we had to ask multiple times what they were. A week later they then cancelled our policy bit charged us £150 to get out. This is in their ts&Cs so they have them set up to get the money out of you. After reading multiple people have this experience they are set up to money grab and scam you. DO NOT USE Reviewed on: 23rd May 2022

TOTAL GARBAGE! BLOODY SCAMMERS

1
Pay upfront and they will rip you off by insisting on a change to your policy which will cost you money ( mine was £700) AND if you want to cancel they will ask you to pay £140 "cancellation fee". so they win either way. I hope you rot in hell, greedy bast*rds. Reviewed on: 5th April 2022

Don't bother!!!

1
After paying up front for my insurance, when I finally received the welcome (!) letter they asked for information that was not even relevant to my cover! After spending a total of over 90 minutes on the phone, I didn't even receive an apology for their mistake. Having had enough of their so called customer service I decided to cancel the policy with them - approximately 24 hours after purchase, and before the policy was due to begin - this would APPARENTLY cost me £60 for administration charges in spite of being well within the 14 day cooling off period. I complained about this, and about the fact that they required details I have never been asked for before, including a copy of the front of my partner's driving licence which he did not want to give. Removing him as a named driver would actually increase my premium!! Eventually they agreed to reduced the admin charge to £30, I requested that they open a formal complaint about this matter. Surprise, surprise they have eventually refunded the £30, and I have gone elsewhere for my insurance. Reviewed on: 21st March 2022
