Few bumps along the way

We recently set up a mortgage with Leeds. Good points - they gave us a decent rate with a low deposit which helped us buy our dream house! Downsides - everything took forever, I mean months to sort out and they didn't set up our mortgage payments properly. terrible legal service

My view of Leeds mortgage service is badly affected by the terrible service by TCS the law firm that LMS gave me. Leeds had the survey done quickly and approved the mortgage very soon after. Now 10 weeks later the LMS customer service seem incapable of getting the law firm to get a move on. I would definitely not use Leeds again or if I did use my own solicitor to do the legal work Reviewed on: 14th November 2017

New mortgage

We recently too out a mortgage with Leeds and although we got a good rate and a decent loan to value ratio the process took an exceedingly long time and felt like we had to jump through a lot of hoops Reviewed on: 27th July 2017

Good company

My mortgage was intitially set up by a broker but I have recently changed tariffs and the customer service team were helpful in setting up a mortgage appointment, even noticing my recent birthday. I then received a call from an advisor on time on the allocated day. She went through everything with me in a calm and collected manner which made it easy to understand the different options available to me. I was made to feel like it was important the product was right for me instead of trying to sell me the highest priced product. Overall I was impressed by the service from Leeds Building Society. Gives you a chance !

Helpful for shared ownership mortgages, one of the few places I could get one ! The rent throws the affordability calculator out of whack for most of the other banks which sucks as the point of shared ownership is meant to get you in the door. However interest is higher than other banks but I guess that's the price you pay! Reviewed on: 5th February 2017

Friendly and listening

Leeds have always been prepared to go out of their way, to accept the unusual and listen, respond and act. All of this done in a friendly and un-pushy way, but still very businesslike and wishing to provide a product and a service Reviewed on: 14th January 2017

AVOID paid deposit and another three 'lump sums'

All is well once they get you on board. Requested 3 lump sum payments over the course of a few months on top of a huge deposit and near the end of the completion date for our home. Complete shambles of a company and would advise to invest your money elsewhere. Such a stressful time dealing going with this company. Really not worth it. Really slow incompetent staff who will request this, that, even though its been submitted. Would stay away Reviewed on: 15th November 2016

Big faff to change to but good deal was worth it

I changed my mortgage from Santander to get Leeds better rate. The process was more hassle than I was expecting and took ages but in the end it was worth it as I made huge savings Reviewed on: 11th May 2016

No problems so far!

All of the documentation when setting up our mortgage was very helpful and on the one instance we've had to contact them so far they were great. No issues setting it up, and no issues with any payments either. Reviewed on: 8th October 2015
