Review of the Post Office, Car Insurance:

AVOID! Useless and extortionate.

1
Useless in the event of a claim - will palm you off to underwriters who are equally as useless and nothing will materialise from your claim. Despite having up to 3 years NCB and going into my 4th year insuring with PO, they thought it would be acceptable to increase my monthly premium from £128 to £266! Absolute p*ss-take and a smack in the face to a loyal paying customer of multiple years. Avoid! Reviewed on: 22nd September 2024

Awful service

1
Insured with these. Missed a tiny detail when completing form, was unable to amend instead they cancel my policy but refuse to return the payment of £315 I paid as it’s in a holding account? Make out they are doing me a favour asking their support team to give me a same day refund in 4 days? If not a colleague may arrange a refund in 10 plus days - so almost 3 weeks. They cancelled the policy the refund should be immediate. I will look forward to receiving 3 weeks interest at 4% Shocking service Reviewed on: 26th February 2023

Courtesy car

1
Had DPD van hit my car . Repairs were arranged, so all good. Then enterprise said they had no instructions for them as to a courtesy car. So 7 calls later after going through options trail, to be either cut off, after told I was being transferred to the correct department . Still have no answer. Insurers stating they have instructed enterprise to book courtesy car, and enterprise saying they have not. Still have no solution. Never had this with any other car insurance companies before. Disgusting. Stay clear .... Reviewed on: 24th January 2023

Avoid this company

Just read the reviews from other its true they always pass you to someone else. So many calls to them but none back from them. I have guaranteed replacement car Its been over a week, nothing not even call from them. They blame others 3rd party's. Wish I read reviews before taken out any policy with them, never again. Awful service, customer care/relations. Lack of comunication and over charging

1
Awful service, customer care/relations. Upon taking out motor insurance with them they have unjustifiably increased the policy premium twice. even though I have provided them with supporting documentation from previous insurers. Their back office continually make mistakes admit them and fail to rectify them. for two previous glass claims, they have increased my premium by £370. I raised an internal complaint and 14 days later I still haven't been contacted. The matter has now been raised with the ombudsman. fingers crossed this will help. But please avoid this company. Appalling handling of my elderly mothers no fault claim

Avoid. Poor communication. Still waiting for courtesy car after a week. Never call back when they say they will. She has had to repeat her story each time. No consistency with information. Should not be operating. Reviewed on: 14th July 2022

Worst car insurance available - avoid

1
Despite me selecting no auto renewal on my car insurance policy they proceeded to renewal the policy and then charged me a cancellation fee when I tired to dispute the renewal process.Avoid this company at all costs folks Reviewed on: 22nd May 2022

Diabolical claims experience

2
Diabolical, insufficient, poorly managed claims. Post Office Car insurance claims uses a third party companies to deal with everything. Takes ages to resolve simple claim. You need to speak to several people from different companies to get information to get you nowhere. Customer service is not bad but they constantly refer you to another party to call. After four months you fill that you are working for them. Not recommended, spend more with reputable company and safe time and money that way. Reviewed on: 12th April 2022

Terrible customer services

1
I was hit by another vehicle whilst driving in a courtesy car provided by post office insurance (even getting this courtesy car was an ordeal!) I contacted the post office to inform them of the incident and was bounced between them and enterprise rentals. After 4 calls to the post office and 3 to enterprise and no progress made I again called the post office and had to quote their own policy terms and conditions to make any headway, they were still not interested and told me to phone LV (their underwriters) and sort it out with them myself. LV were brilliant, post office not so much! I cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid the post office insurance like the plague! Reviewed on: 30th January 2022
