Ok I got locked out of my online account - no problem - easy enough to do at 03.00 in the morning, no problem wait until 09.00 and call them and they can unlock it again like every other bank? Think again. You have to wait for a LETTER TO BE POSTED (!) which can take up to 5 working days. They didn't care how urgent it was and refused to let me speak to a manager. When I asked for a complaints email address they gave me a PO Box in Armagh to write to. Joke. I now have to wait until I get a new number, log in and I will transfer the balance to my new account elsewhere. They have a very basic website and no App - so no facial recognition log-in. So just posting your details all over the place. Very risky and insecure. AVOID this Bank of Ireland Post Office set-up, they are well behind the times and I think very insecure, just downright inviting fraud. As a last ditch I asked them to just send the funds back from whence they came (a proper bank) and surprise surprise I was advised to write another letter - listing all the details someone would need to take anything therein. What a total joke. Read more Read less

Received a letter in the post notifying me of account maturity, and upon ringing to close it (which must be done over the phone for no really clear reason) I was told the address I answered was incorrect. How? I'm ringing you with a code from post sent to MY address. And to make it really hilarious, it turns out the stupid woman was looking at someone elses account on my call! Poor you! I almost got to ask my way into finding out about your details! In short. Open an account LITERALLY anywhere else, i beg of you, these guys are absolute morons from customer support right up to bankers. Go with a conventional bank. Not even an insane interest rate would justify their abysmal performance. Read more Read less

Useless in the event of a claim - will palm you off to underwriters who are equally as useless and nothing will materialise from your claim. Despite having up to 3 years NCB and going into my 4th year insuring with PO, they thought it would be acceptable to increase my monthly premium from £128 to £266! Absolute p*ss-take and a smack in the face to a loyal paying customer of multiple years. Avoid! Read more Read less

It contained my passport which meant I missed my flight and had to book an extra stay in a hotel whilst waiting for my emergency passport to be issued. Costs incurred over £500. On arriving home I had submitted a claim, only to be told the insurance doesn't cover this. The only thing covered is the emergency passport which cost less than the excess! Needless to say I will not be using the Post Office for my insurance in future. Read more Read less

Do not use "Post Office" travel insurance take a nettle with you at least when you touch it you will know you have been stung.... Do not use "Post Office" travel insurance take a nettle with you at least when you touch it you will know you have been stung. Mere criminals maskarading as legitimate traders. We all know insurance is a con in most cases, not worth the paper it's written on but never thought such a recognised brand could act so low. Living in a rural area with no public transport or contactable taxi service, our own vehicle our lifeline about to set out 04:15 for flight 07:15 discovering our battery was flat and rushed around for an alternative, try that in a rural area 5am. Long story short missed my flight and paid a rescue fee to Easyjet next available flight, 3 days later obviously missing that period of my holiday also. Having this misfortune remembering my Post Office insurance I saw a very dim light at the end of the tunnel, which was soon extinguished when I reached out to "Post Office" claims call handlers. Twice relaying my predicament they hung up, all stuck in some sweat shop in India, had loose understanding of the English language and even less in the use of the language. Then questioned like a criminal as if I intensionally missed my flight, loosing three days of my holiday!!. Luckily I've had the misfortune of coming across such charlatans before and well versed in the services of the Financial Ombudsman, which I can assure the Post Office is where they are going to be overhauled.
