In the wrong business

Uploading proof of NCD through the website account doesn’t work, advised them but my email has been ignored, sent proof by email instead, asked for a receipt, instead I received an email telling me to send my proof of NCD, I replied by sending it again, asking for a receipt which was ignored. I have NCD stretching back over 20+ years and that’s what I listed on my proposal, my other insurer simply lists this as 9 years + on my proof of NCD. This morning I have received a surly, unsigned email from Post Office advising me that my policy remains unaffected but my NCD proof is different to what I told them. All of the correspondence from this company is brusque and unpleasant. If they are this bad when taking my money how bad will they be if I need to make a claim? Reviewed on: 4th October 2026

Crazy spike to car insurance for change in added driver

I had a car insurance with myself as named driver and my son (still learner then) with Hasting. I stupidly moved to PostOffice, because they offered a slightly better price (ca. £80 less). I wish I had not done so: when my son passed his driving licence, they asked in order to modify the policy the extortionate sum of 640£ – on top of what I had paid initially – and £20 extra for the admin work. A quick check online showed that Hastings would take me back, with my son as added driver, with a full licence, for ca. 600£. So I quit PostOffice, got (partially) reimbursed for the part of the year not used, and am happily back with Hastings. Do not go there - it is a disgrace. Reviewed on: 17th August 2026

£85 TO CANCEL POLICY

car insurance renewal in january but changed car yesterday ( october 30th ) and phoned to cancel insurance got a better quote elsewhere and told me i had to pay £85 to cancel ******* SCAMMERS Reviewed on: 30th September 2025

Scammers .Beware

Had an accident.claimed and now a nightmare

Had an accident. Not my fault. The hassle I’ve had is so stupid. They just put you to someone else which isn’t the post office to sort. Been two years and still not sorted!! Reviewed on: 4th April 2025

Never ever get post office car insurance

My dad had car accident which was not his fault. They said they can't repair the car as repair will cost more than value of car so, we opt for car money and its been 3 months since we put the claim and still has not been sorted. We were referred to total-loss team which was dealing with 3rd party insurer but we had to contact the insurance by ourselves to provide them with letter. It felt like we were doing more than their job. More than 2 weeks before we were said that 3rd party made a counter offer and we were waiting for money but when I chased them, they said 3rd party denied to release any fund so we have been referred back to post office.He had witness who provided all the details of accident but still they could not retrieve claim money from 3rd party insurer. Post office insurance company has useless staff, If u call them none of the staff has clue which department to put u through so they will pretend to transfer until phone gets cut. It's been very stressful and frustrating at the same time. Pay little more and get nicer insurer than having this insurance company. Reviewed on: 31st January 2025

Awful service.

Awful service. Reported an incident that took place on the 17th of October. It's now January and still nothing done. Have called them 8 times and enterprise twice who are also rubbish. Straight forward incident aswell, my car was parked. My advice don't go with post office! Reviewed on: 4th January 2025

Terrible experience all round.

Terrible experience all round. My husband renewed insurance only for them to cancel it and take money from our account. No reason given by customer service for this. Worse ever service. Don't call back have to wait up to eight weeks to get it resolved even though clearly mistake their side. Worst company I've ever been with with and I have been driving for a long time and have maximum no claims. DONT GO WITH, MUCH BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE. Reviewed on: 30th December 2024
