Lost iPhone 7

Hi there I had my phone stolen abroad on Friday 23 june, I reported it next day to Rbs as I'm covered with my silver account, the phones to say I will get another phone by Monday or Tuesday, thanks so much Rbs it's a big weight off my mind

I recently visited a branch as I had misplaced my card and needed to take some cash out. The advisor was very friendly and helpful and suggested I download the app which allows me to take cash out the machine without my card present. I thought this was a great idea for emergencies. The one downside is that the branch is always queued and have to wait quite a while for any service. I like the coin machines they have in branch where you can pour all your coppers into it and it prints a slip which can be credited into your account at no fee. For paying for a select silver acc (£10 per month) for around 8 years I would expect to have a contactless card but never received one

RBS staff are all very friendly and always provide a service that feels personalised. It doesnt matter which branch you go into the staff are always eager to help and very pleasant. They remain professional yet seem to have a personal touch that makes you feel more than just a name. We have been with RBS for 20 years now and the main reason we dont change is because of the staff and the service.

I don't really have much dealings with my bank unless they are trying to sell me something. Although last year I queried my monthly account charge, as I couldn't see what benefits I was getting for £10 a month. They were actually pretty good about it and refunded me two years worth of charges the very next day.

More input needed

Whilst I love the RBS they have seriously let us down with our 'add ons' on our account. Our branch has now closed, we never hear from the bank and they do not tell us what add ons we are entitled to - therefore we have actually lost out occasionally...

Loyal customer but no perks

Having had the account for many years I find that over the last 3 years RBS have made very few changes - or any that I am aware of. They have a distinct lack of contact and no real perks for a charge of £10 per month on my account. It would be nice if they at least rung on a regular occasion to let us know of new options, bank accounts etc as they have closed our local branch meaning that we can no longer pop in or call our friendly staff.

The account is ok and some of the perks are good with the app really useful and easy to use.

A recent victim of Fraud saw a different side of RBS. Whilst they were prompt with cancelling my card and ensuring which payments were fraudulent they seem to act slowly to refund the money. I have since heard it should be there the same day yet I am still waiting after 72 hours.

I've been a customer of RBS for over 15 years and have always found customer service to be excellent. However, the Select Silver Account costs £10 per month so it's not for everyone in my view. It works for me because I make use of the bundled travel insurance and mobile phone insurance, but I think anyone considering this product needs to look closely at the benefits to decide whether it is worthwhile for them.
