Avoid at all costs.

I have used Tui for travel and currency for over 20 years, spending around £3K per year with them, but never again from now on. The Tui currency card that I was advised to get is an absolute rip-off, offering the lowest exchange rates. I will now use a rival travel agent, so I hope it was worth it for Tui to rip me off. Avoid Tui currency exchanges at all costs, for money cards and currency. Reviewed on: 15th September 2023

Terrible card do not use

Loaded my card at the shop and went on holiday, card worked a few times then seemed to get locked. Contacted TUI customer services who are useless and I am still waiting for my remaining funds to be returned. I would have saved a few hundred pounds on the exchange as well if I had just taken cash. Zero stars

Absolute rubbish. Unable to top the card up via the app. Then tried to spend the small amount I have on it. PIN not working. Re set it via yhe app, but card now just declines. So glad I checked these reviews before I loaded all of the families holiday Spends onto it. Recommended a Revolut Card... its brilliant..... and works.... Reviewed on: 3rd July 2023

Dreadful

Doesn't work. Like so many others have commented, when you try to top it up, it doesn't work, stating 'top up failed' and check my details and try again. I have done this repeatedly. So much time wasted. Customer services are patronising and state ' it will work, if done correctly' Reviewed on: 13th September 2022

Tui Money travel card

Most awkward card to set up and swap password I'd lost, fairly helpful at shop then got logged out at shop I'm just broken by it,why can't things be a little simplier, all I wanted to do was register a new card,then 25 mins to get through on phone at shop,,then I was told I had 44euro left on old card and they told me there was nothing a week before,three hours out of my day wasted and still no solution,but so easy to add money to it,last holiday I will book with TUI that's for sure. Left with no funds

Used card couple of times then it was declined although all our funds are on it. Rang customer service who said they’d get someone from customer service to call me within 48 hours!! Reviewed on: 19th May 2022

Difficulties with the card

I used this when I travelled abroad last year and I found that it wasn't the easiest of travel cards to use. Simply logging in to check your balance was confusing. The rates of exchange were very high and it was a lot more complicated to use than other travel cards. However when I did have an issue with my card, the staff at TUI were really helpful, The only problem is it had to be solved in store so my mum had to go and sort it out while I was stuck in Thailand! More customer service options would be appreciated! An easier way to unlock a new card through a telephone conversation would have been appreciated! Reviewed on: 19th June 2020

Average

This is okay. I much prefer using a 0% on purchases credit card abroad I find it far easier to manage via my online banking. I would recommend another product. Reviewed on: 22nd June 2017
