Whilst the online ordering service was straightforward, the collection of my Euros was problematic. I received a confirmation email for my order which said I should provide the order number, photographic ID and the card used to purchase the currency when I called into the branch. I duly provided the information only to have the staff in the branch refuse to release the money as I could not produce a copy of the email! After going home to collect my phone and showing it at the counter to prove that it did not specify that as a requirement, the lady was unrepentant saying that her screen did. So either I was unlucky to be served by a supreme jobsworth, or TUI need to alter their advice to customers! It was rather ridiculous, as the email didn't provide any further information than I had already given. Just be sure to be able to produce a copy of their email on collection to avoid any hassle! But was told to order via a TUI store if I wanted 50 Euro notes - so I did. When I collected my currency I was told that they had not looked at my order until that morning and were too late to obtain 50 Euro notes. When I got home I saw that the rate received was about 5% lower than the online rate - for 400Euros cost £18 more - complete rip-off. Always buy travel currency from TUI online and collect in store. Arrived in Spain on holiday, tried to use the card in 3 different premises only to be declined payment. My account says there is money on card. Have spoke with CS 3 times now, and they keep advising me card is active but account has been blocked by tui for some reason. So now stuck in spain with no money. Nice one guys very appreciative. I have a Tui travel money card that I hadn't used because I hadn't been on holiday. It had £100 on it. Because of inactivity Tui took £2 per month from my card until there was absolutely nothing left. Because of covid I got £40 back. I was livid. How could they take money like that. But they say its in the terms and conditions. I was not informed of any terms and conditions. They are a greedy, thoughtless company to behave in such a way. Read more Read less

Because I haven't been on holiday for a number of years Tui have taken £100 from my card. I am so annoyed. You don't expect a 'respected ' company to resort to such underhand means to extort your money from you. To take money from a card just because it isn't being used is beyond belief. Do yhey really need money that badly. I worked forvtheir airline years ago and we were always trying to keep passengers happy. Free drinks etc. Now there is no goodwill from Tui at all. I have used Tui for travel and currency for over 20 years, spending around £3K per year with them, but never again from now on. The Tui currency card that I was advised to get is an absolute rip-off, offering the lowest exchange rates. I will now use a rival travel agent, so I hope it was worth it for Tui to rip me off.
