Untrustworthy bank, awful staff If you care about your savings keep away. Bank stores are so few that when you have issues you won’t get resolution. Reviewed on: 19th November 2022

Review of the Virgin Money, Regular Savings:

Virgin Money's 10.38th% Regular Saver a/c

5
Virgin Money's Regular Saver a/c pays quarterly interest of 10.3/8th% AER, Fixed until 31st July 2025, which is currently the best in the market. £250 max per month permitted. You can overpay later if you were not able to pay £250 previously, so long as you don't exceed the max £3000 per annum. Virgin now of course part of Nationwide BS, so unlikely to go bust!. There are various restrictions, including one's having been a member of Virgin Money Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank since 4th December 2019 or earlier, so not everyone can have the account, but for those eligible this Regular Saver cannot in my opinion be beaten. When the bank of England set a reduction in the bace rate it is only .25% the rate that has been applied in not in line Reviewed on: 31st August 2016

Really like the fact that having a Cash ISA with Virgin means I'm eligible for all sorts of extras (competition entries, etc). Reviewed on: 30th August 2016

Keeping money safe.

I found that by keeping my savings in a Virgin Money ebond. The money gained a little interest whilst being invested. It was also safe from me spending it. I found that at the time I invested the money. Virgin Money paid the best high street interest rate. Reviewed on: 30th August 2016

Silence

I took out a Virgin ISA sometime ago. Well, I think I have. I've not had any confirmation that I have this account. I set up a Co-Op one at the same time and the difference in customer care has been stark. I was left in no doubt I was a Co-Op customer. Reviewed on: 26th August 2016

ISA interest rates too low

Despite BoE rate cuts I expect Virgin to offer the best ISA rates in the market, they no longer do so and are being overtaken by their competition. Also a real pain to service accounts given unfriendly user log-in that I can't remember, I should be able to set this to something of my choosing e.g. email address. Reviewed on: 26th August 2016
