Review of the Wise Driving, Car Insurance:

Avoid at all costs

Avoid like the plague, this is a rogue business operation! I will keep it simple, had problems installing the telematics black box at the start of the policy, immediately I was sent an email that my policy will be cancelled and that of 25th December yes - Christmas day!! Called the company to explain and request the manger to call me back before the 24th December, took them almost three weeks for a manager to call back after several persistent calls. During my attempts I was given the pathetic excuse that only ONE manger existed and they are on annual leave for three weeks, and there was no other methods of escalating my concerns. My black box was not fit for purpose and will not remain on the windscreen as the adhesive design is inadequate, it keeps falling off and subsequent to this I received another email of non compliance of the box instalment and the policy will be cancelled! After several calls to the company, and long waiting times to get through, once the agents could see from their notes, my pending issues they would put me on hold and cut the call - coincidentally. (This happened several times, and they would not call you back). Other confusing issues which are not explained at the time of taking out the policy or prior; importantly is that the the Telematic black box device does not form part of your rights to obtain a refund during your statutory UK cooling off period, should anyone wish to cancel your insurance policy, and the fee £150 is chargeable for the box plus a £70 circa cancellation fee. So when you buy the insurance you are locked in by default - which is scandalous. Another confusing aspect for the consumer is they use a separate company for their credit agreements (If you pay monthly instalments) call ‘Close Brothers Finance’, which they don’t tell you, until you receive your agreement in the post to which MUST BE SIGNED FOR! Frustratingly this is the first time I have ver had to do this for insurance. They will confuse the hell out of customers by operating under several different trading names; Close Brothers Finance, WISE and iGO4 and Pukka Services. For the end consumer, it is not made clear whom is whom! Not to mention another company that surprisingly called my on boxing day asking if I coughed in my car the night before, (seriously) who said he is not part of the insurance company but worked for their precious telematic black box company. All very bizarre trading activities I have to admit. Bad points -Non U.K. Call Centres -Extremely long waiting times to call through (anything from 20 - 45 minutes, in my experience) -Quality of the call is very poor and so is communication, you have to ask them to repeat themselves. -Black box is solar panelled but yet it requires a charging, owe not to mention they do not provide the charger!? -The box has to be accurately installed onto your vehicle's windscreen which should not be removed other tampered with otherwise you will be informed a cancellation of policy -This is the best bit; they provide you with a ‘solar panel’ enabled black box device, wait for it… That ironically requires charging, and have you know it, they don’t supply the USB C cable to charge in your vehicle. Not to mention they don’t tell you this! If you remove the device to charge it, you get penalised for it! In essence the black box device is not fit for consumer purpose and in fact it one can assume it is designed to catch you out, solely for the purpose of making more money from you. (extorting money from you by hiking you premiums so I have heard). -The the telematic black box device is more hassle than it is actually worth with WISE insurance, trust me other companies do it much better! -WISE Insuarnce is a rogue company and it is beyond belief that the insurance ombudsman haven’t already shut them down. (It’s just a matter of time). -The black box device is non-transferable to another vehicle should you wish to change your vehicle during your active policy, you will have to purchase another at fee of £150! Absolutely awful insurance company.

Absolutely awful insurance company. Cancelled a month and a half before my policy ended, and they charged me an astronomical amount. I told him I wasn't happy, and he proceeded to say he wasn't sure as to why that price was so high for the cancellation fee. Told me he would get the team to look into it, did they bother? Nope. They didn't, didn't even say anything back from that and no explanation or nothing. So, I set up a payment plan, and I had issues with my bank, causing me to miss a couple of payments. I made a few payments up, contacted them prior to this and explained that I had issues, and they told me its been sent to the debt collection agency, even though i made contact with wise driving!!! The policy time is completely wrong on what the debt collection agency have and they don't even have my address right either. They also slapped another 20 quid onto the bill because of this. When I rang them earlier, they were beyond rude, completely ignorant. Do not bother with this company, their prices are ridiculous and the customer service is disgusting. Defrauded without card payment consent

Nonsensical Insurance Company, fraudulently charged my card for the renewal in the broad daylight after my first insurance year ended and I was never going to use them again. Worse - theirs contact centre is based in India, so Computer Says Know is modus operandi when dealing with them. Worse more - if you contact them and say 'hey you was wrong you should have cancelled on day one', then reply as if from another galaxy after 14 days expire to tell You 'You are out of 14 days cooling period' so Mr/Mrs you are ought to pay full on. Worse more - the complaint manager is useless, they want to do the lipservice they do all fine when it is written on the forehead the basic premium refund calculation is High School Year 5 maths error. Scamers

Scammers!!!!!

Scammers!!!! My husband had his policy cancelled due to no fault of his own he dropped his car off for a mot, and the car mechanic decided to use my husband's car without my husbands permission at 103mph my husband informed them this was not him and provided them with all the information they asked for where car was, police reference number ect they seemed happy and put husband's policy back week later they sent email saying your policy is been cancelled we called thinking they had made mistake but once we eventually got through they told us no we are cancelling the policy reason is because u didn't tell car mechanic that there was a black box in the car which is absolutely absurd we only took the car for mot by law and now been punished for someone else's actions we have been mistreated by wise driving and will be taking this case further..... Thank You Wise Driving

Wise driving has provided me with great affordable car insurance this year! The rates are stable and in line with what to expect for a driver of my experience. Everything else had gone up astronomically, and as a student and part-time carer, finding insurance at their rates was a blessing. My car needed a black box fitting, which they sent it in the post for me to do myself. Impossible to contact anyone

I bought a policy from this so called wise driving insurance. I wasn't sent the black box before my policy became active, then I received a message that if I don't fit the black box within 48 hours my policy will be cancelled! When they've not send me the black box. I have been calling for hours no one answers the phone. Reviewed on: 11th March 2023

Terrible service

Negletting customers, and promote cancellation and retain money for fees

They never answered my emails, they don't answer your calls either. the box installed doesn't work. they don't reply to my emails and pics I send. Today i received a letter saying that they canceled my policy, (fine!!!) but they will apply fees equal to £250 pounds. Disonest. I wont say anything else. Dont insure with them!!!
