About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

No one's in

Where can I start... I would like to access my pension, but Aegon doesn't want this. Aegon sends me round in circles, then accuses me of going round in circles. I was told to speak to a Fiancial Advisor, but when I did, he wasn't happy because when he asked me what I wanted, I told him I already knew what I wanted and advise wasn't it. Aegon warns of taking out too much of the pot with fears of paying too much tax, but doesn't seem interested that the Financial Advisor wants more than HMRC to help pay for his 5 bedroom house and 5 Series BMW (at least the HMRC distributes money to people in need). It takes about ten days to access, but 15 weeks to get Aegon to get their act together. Not happy, but more than happy to write a review. Reviewed on: 17th May 2023

Worth 25%less than l put in

I joined this for only a few years thank god as I have invested over 28k and it now stands at 21k - and still paying charges to 'invest' my money. Reviewed on: 14th May 2023

Make someone else rich with your sweat

Stay away!

Stay away! These are parasites. By presumption, they take your money, invest it in a profitable business and provide you with a decent pension in old age. Actually: They take your money, invest it somewhere, take the profit and drain your fund in the form of "administrative management costs". They stole 35% of the deposited money from me. Switching funds is almost impossible.

My company and I pay into this SIPP. It has very cheap fees (£40p/m regardless of pot size). The site is absolutely useless if you want to do anything other than watch your pension. Transferring in took 2 months and about ten phone calls. Switching funds takes about a month, emails and five calls so far. 95% of people are in the standard lifestyle fund so do not need to worry about anything else. Do yourself a favour and spend a day researching it a bit. It could prevent you losing tens of thousands keeping it in a lazy fund. Reviewed on: 20th March 2023

AEGON is a financial pyramid

AEGON is a financial pyramid. The idea of AEGON's existence is to invest the customers' money with a profit so that they have a decent pension. Instead, the money is not invested at all, or if it is invested, the profit is taken away by AEGON. Apart from this, customers' accounts are being drained under some unclear rules and with exorbitant charges. I RECOMMEND everyone to deposit their money in a bank. DO not use this company if you have any sense!

DO not use this company if you have any sense. When it comes to withdrawing on a pension account they put one excuse after another to hold up the payment. Their own web site states 3 days for processing and upto 5 days for payment - and my case 22 days and counting. This includes the fact they lost a personal document in the form of my debit account bank statement. How dangerous is this? In this day and age how is this allowed to happen? Terrible service.

Not once have I managed to get through to Aegon. I'm currently trying to sort out all my pension pots, I've got hold of three pension providers on the phone, easily! Aegon is something else. I've written to them, no response. I've emailed them only for them to refer ne back to their website. I won't be putting another penny into this scheme. Reviewed on: 8th March 2023

Disgusting company

I requested my payment on the 13th of January & they have continuously failed & refused to make it. I requested a call from the complaints department which i received some 3 weeks later. I was given a number to call but conveniently the number was no longer available. I know have spoken with the Pension Ombudsman & requested transcripts of all my conversations with Aegon. To say i am in totally disbelief would be an understatement. Absolutely disgusted doesn't even come close. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

Pension lost Month on Month

I have a company pension with Aegon a my payments in = GBP £ 18795.00 current value GBP £ 14.365.00 they dont have a planb but just keep[ losing money month on month I have paid in GBP 365.00 in February and the fund has gone done again by GBP £ 700.00 this is a month on month loss for the last year. Absolutely no comments from my contact with them althouth they are still charging a handling fee ha ha ...... My advice is steer clear they are incompetent have no interest ( Pardon the pun ) and ignore all attempts to contact directy.
