Best to go somewhere else. They take your money for years - no problem. Really obstructive when you are due to get it out. Lots of delaying tactics. Reviewed on: 21st December 2025

About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

OK so trustpilot said i couldnt log in with google and here on smartmoney it was really hard to select product as the menu disappeared with every move of the mouse so leaving a review is a thumbs down from me Reviewed on: 11th September 2020

Highly invested in customer interaction

I am always receiving emails on getting involved with the Aegon community and giving feedback on all aspects of what Aegon have to offer. It makes me feel valued and engaged in the company dealing with my pension. Reviewed on: 8th September 2020

Good reliable service

I have a SIPP, General Investment Account and an an ISA with Aegon as a platform all in the same portfolio of funds recommended by my local large company IFA in the East Midlands. It all went down at the peak of the corona virus and is now slowly recovering, pretty much like my other investments. Aegon are mainly administrators for me and my IFA who do it well. Their web page is very good and different sorts can be made on the database to analyse performance, fees and dividends in an easy to understand manner. Reviewed on: 8th September 2020

Helpful advice tailored individually

Doing OK in difficult times

We all know that the financial world is suffering during the Covid-19 pandemic. After a huge reduction in my pension fund in March 2020, over the last six months things have gradually recovered, not fully, but getting there. It'll be the same for all pension funds and companies. How Aegon compare to the others, I don't know. We just have to be patient, things will recover. Reviewed on: 8th September 2020

Very poor service

Unfortunately I have an old company pension plan with them. The info they offer is a bit limited to begin with, but the real issue is when you try to move your old plan to a new one. Then they throw at you every possible hurdle and unreasonable request. Any advisor will tell you that is a red flag and I wouldn't recommend any company or individual to use them, in fact, I would avoid them like the plague. Reviewed on: 29th July 2020

Helpful today

My employer has had our company group pension in a fund managed through Aegon for many years. I was rather startled by the negative reviews here, however I have just called them and found them helpful and friendly. I needed a little help to get back online to see my plan and 'Duncan' was able to sort this out with me very quickly. Reviewed on: 23rd July 2020

Have tried to close account and get shares back for three months and received no correspondence from them, seriously thinking of taking legal action..

Previous explanation ,very bad company at releasing your money...I am recently widowed,and they are dragging this out, covid 19 is getting the excuse everyone is using ,but staff are furloughed and working from home..no excuses please! Aegon just don't get back to you and when they do ... 3 days later they do no respond fully to all clearly raised points of concern. During covid they are not operating a service and should say so to investors and stakeholders. Outwith covid status they were no better they didn't even tell me there was an early end to tax year despite clear complaints realised that outlined the importance off my tax year cash in. A really worry so many wrong and conflicting messages cal centre claims, complaints and yes... management too. Disappointed mitt to access cash when I wanted I was messed around like no other experience i can recall in my 50 decades of life. Don't invest! Reviewed on: 9th April 2020
