Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

Have tried to close account and get shares back for three months and received no correspondence from them, seriously thinking of taking legal action..

Previous explanation ,very bad company at releasing your money...I am recently widowed,and they are dragging this out, covid 19 is getting the excuse everyone is using ,but staff are furloughed and working from home..no excuses please! Aegon just don't get back to you and when they do ... 3 days later they do no respond fully to all clearly raised points of concern. During covid they are not operating a service and should say so to investors and stakeholders. Outwith covid status they were no better they didn't even tell me there was an early end to tax year despite clear complaints realised that outlined the importance off my tax year cash in. A really worry so many wrong and conflicting messages cal centre claims, complaints and yes... management too. Disappointed mitt to access cash when I wanted I was messed around like no other experience i can recall in my 50 decades of life. Don't invest! Reviewed on: 9th April 2020

AXA UK moved our pensions to Argon. Now retired I've been looking at all my pots for the future. With this one, I wanted to release some capital. I started this process on 3rd Jan 20. Still today I'm waiting for paper work after 7 days! Told I should receive it in 3 to 5 days. Every time I call given misinformation, conflicting reasons for delays etc. One operator blamed AXA for the long process! I'm going to move the pot from them, purely because I have no trust what's so ever. Appaling. Reviewed on: 23rd February 2020

HIS IS THE CRAPPIEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO DEAL WITH. i HAD MY PENSION WITH COFUNDS (NOW AEGON) AND I CANNOT GET ANY MONEY OUT OR TRANSFERRED OUT. I REQUESTED A TRANSFER IN SEPTEMBER AND IT'S NOW JANUARY AND STILL NO MONEY. THIS COMPANY IS RUN BY CLOWNS!!! Reviewed on: 17th January 2020

Useless customer services

Conflicting information each time you contact them. I was assured 3 weeks ago that once I received the information pack and the pension statement of just over £200 I could phone them and they would do a credit reference check and send me the money. Did that today, not the case, they would send me yet another form. I would then have to take my passport to the post office get a copy endorsed and send it back to them. Would it have been so difficult to have sent all the necessary paperwork together. Reviewed on: 10th January 2020

PATRONISING ROBOTS

AEGON : They make it difficult for you to withdraw your pension pot by complicating the process and talking down at you. They ask you questions and if you don't answer properly they start all over again. Must be the most patronising and asinine method with robots employed, I have ever experienced in my long life. Definitely keep away and invest your money where you will be treated like an adult customer. After all, they should be bending over backwards to please their customers, NOT IRRITATE THEM IN THE MOST CONDESCENDING WAY IMAGINABLE !!! Reviewed on: 4th December 2019

How did I associate with the company? I must be a fool. I can't deal with them, my investments through them are crashing, they don't return phone calls or email. When I call for help, they sit in silence and say they can't help and I need to email them......huh? I'm only trying to log-in. Reviewed on: 30th August 2019

Aegon is bad evrerywhere, from a customer in the Netherlands

Aegon is just bad news. They messed up my pension account. I ended up with Aegon via my adviser when I turned my savingsplan [tax rebated] into a pay out scheme. They got the accounts [needed for vaying pay out periods] mixed up, they payed out the wrong ammounts at the wrong tomes. They do not have an email adres one can contact. If you do get thru they refuse to deal with you, they will only deal with agents. At every touch and turn they do not respond or if they do it's in some wierd round about way. They respond to [negative!] reviews via websites within minutes but not to a direct complaint from a customer. No folks, if you are a customer you have my sympathy. If not then take my advice and keep clear of Aegon, they are there for Aegon not for you.... Reviewed on: 27th June 2019

Appalling slow service

I have a monthly income payment from my pension pot paid supposedly each month on the 27th. Have never received it yet on that date. I never know when the money will be paid into my bank account and consequently incur bank charges for their incompetence. My financial advisor is as useful as a chocolate teapot, they show no interest at all. I need to change both to get the service I was initially promised Reviewed on: 29th April 2019
