Would highly recommend to all my enemies

Took out insurance with ageas.co.uk from link on confused.com as it was suggested to be the best price. After 2 weeks of being insured price went up by £92. Called ageas to inquire about price change was advised price had changed as I put wrong date by mistake of car purchase 29/08/19 but purchase 29/09/19 only ONE month off. Ageas refused to do anything about price increase and my mistake of ONE month not a year ONE MONTH, with rage I cancel my policy but wonted another £40 to cancel. Reviewed on: 19th August 2020

charged £38 for updating date of purchase didnt even have my policy number

Everything is going well with this company Reviewed on: 2nd July 2020

I was run over. They took my details 6 months ago and that was it.

I was reversed over on my motorcycle by a lorry whilst I was stationary, tooting my horn and waving at the driver. I called up, left my details, and it's been a battle to speak to anyone since. I sent eight or nine emails with no reply, in the first few weeks, and six months have passed. I still have nothing. Was not offered a tow truck and was expected to get my totalled motorcycle back to safety on my own. Nothing has happened as far as I can tell to this date so it is now time to give the lawyers a call. It would have been simpler giving £1000 to the guy who totalled my bike and walking away. Ages proves that insurance can cost you much more than their premium.. Maybe I will get my bike repaired, but I will still loose out on 6 months of transport, 6 months of road tax, 6 months of insurance premius, and a hell of a lot more than 6 months of stress. It's about time that companies like these were shut down and genuine companies with descent policies got their business. I'm ashamed to have been conned like this because it makes me look like a fool. Never use this insurance company. Reviewed on: 24th June 2020

Awful experience

1
To summarise very briefly...I set up my insurance with Ageas through Compare the Market who auto selected email as my preference. They then contacted me only via this channel (which didn’t work) until they cancelled the insurance (also via email). Because I had not received the emails, I was unaware, and subsequently drove around in an uninsured car for 3 months. Beware - or make sure you select multiple communication methods as they don’t seem intelligent enough to check/use more before cancelling your insurance. Would give zero stars on both if I could...would 100% not recommend, unless you like driving uninsured! *Most annoyingly, it was cancelled for something that was extremely easy to sort - had they have tried.* Reviewed on: 27th May 2020

They're greedy

1
My car has been parked in the driveway since March due o Covid19. I phoned Ageas to check whether they're considering giving refunds as like me, most of their customers are not driving. Unlike other car insurers who are doing the right thing, Ageas' unprofessional customer service representative told me that they won't give any refunds. Whilst some companies are doing all the can to help with the present situation, some try to benefit no matter what. Reviewed on: 26th May 2020

Horrendous company

These were my so called 'representatives' a few years ago after being shunted into the car in front of me on the motorway. From the moment I spoke to them it was apparent that they were taking the side of third party who had shunted me. From their responses it was obvious from day one that they disbelieved what I was saying. I had months of stress due to the incompetence of the person who was apparently representing me - and to be quite honest I could have done a better job myself and found myself pointing out faults with the third party version that should have been picked up immediately. However by that point it was too late. Absolutely useless and use them at your peril. I've had to select one star but would have selected zero if it was an option. Reviewed on: 20th May 2020

Never again

I apologise for the length of this review but its a long winded experience which is still ongoing. My car got stolen,by some little store, from outside my house early hours of morning on 1st may 2020.24hr claim line said to phone back during office hours which I did.told me I wasn't insured on my comprehensive cover as my autistic daughter was maybe the last known member of household to have seen my single car key attached to my only house key.she can't even remember herself bless her.i then got told that I should've reported her to police for theft as it must've been her who stole my missing keys therefore I'm not covered by my insurance for theft of my vehicle as it was my own fault that some toe rag was flouting the law of lockdown to steal my car which contained a lot of personal items and car paperwork as well as my daughters medication which was all hidden away out of sight and locked.i begged and sobbed for ageas to re consider my claim to which they finally said ok we will cover your claim for vehicle.i was relieved to say the least...even though it took a week to get there.im the one doing all chasing to Ageas and also to find out details of my car, which 2weeks down the line I still know nothing about.at my request to speak to any kind of manager I'm told the same thing over and over..."you can only really deal with your handler"Emily..who I will point out has been very kind. i also had a few conversations with Tracey who was just as kind, but they can only do so much . I made sure that I ticked courtesy car box so if anything should happen to my car I'd not be without transport, just to be told that I'm not entitled to such a luxury item by ageas.also that the small print in my policy says that although I'm insured to drive somebody else's car obviously with permission etc:I'm only allowed to do so if I'm still in possession of the covered vehicle and that it has not been subject to any written off damage and that it has not been a subject of theft...{or something almost exact to that wording}I haven't been informed that my car has been taken from police compound{which apparently it has indeed gone from } let alone where my vehicle is right now...all I'm getting is persistent requests for documents that were in car...oh...and my car key.i don't even know if my car was hotwired or started with the key...im feeling like the criminal and being punished for actions of the vile human who did this to me and my family. I've been recently attending hospital appointments investigating heart problems which could be serious and we live in remote area so my car is needed by myself as well as for making sure that my daughters needs are met and my partner gets to and from work.which is why I needed the courtesy car cover in first place.i have left out so much more than what is in this review. I will also keep this review updated and let people know of the outcome...Deb Tydeman. Reviewed on: 14th May 2020
