Don't bother with Ageas

I took out car insurance with Ageas, I made a admin mistake and did not reveal a car incident. They emailed me and increased the premium by 60% and would not reduce the premium. I had the policy for 2 days and they wanted to charge £35 to cancel the policy. I was paying by DD so told them to stuff it and cancelled the policy. Reviewed on: 6th June 2019

THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH!!!!!

From previous comments you can see the horrific service of this company. From start to finish this company has been a complete mess. The stress and anxiety it has caused me due to lack of communication (not returning phone calls, emails, not keeping me in the loop) having several advisers due to "leaving staff". I have had to bring together my own evidence while going though an accident claim that was not my fault. I could not think of a company that I would recommend less. After waiting over a year an a half for my case to be settle my payment has been received from the third party and still has not been deposited to myself. THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH!!!!! Reviewed on: 18th April 2019

WARNING.....

Son aged 17 took out car insurance policy with black box requirement. The company installing the box reported the grill was not the standard original part and would be classed as a undeclared modification. This grill was fitted by previous owner and my son had no knowledge of it not being original. Another issue was tinted windows which my son offered to remove immediately. Broker then advised him Ageas cancelling policy with no opportunity to correct so called modifications Basically 11 days insurance has cost £168 which included cancellation fee & black box installation (which never took place) plus black mark on insurance history. Appalling claims settlement process

Ageas claims are absolutely appalling. Fast enough to take your money for a policy but a very different story when they are supposed to pay it out! I had my prize Porsche stolen last November, and trying to get some professionalism and efficiency from there claims department is impossible. The appointed loss adjuster took over 2 months to make an appointment to see me, then didn’t bother to reply to my emails asking him what he wanted in the way of documentation. The claim handler then told me not to deal with him any more or reply to his emails as he was ‘off the case’. He then turns up at my home unannounced 3 weeks later saying he is ‘back on the case’ and apologised for all the mess up! Ageas left it over 3 months before requesting a police report (that takes another 3 weeks). When I asked why everything is not requested at the start of the claim, I’m told ‘we can take as long as we like’! What sort of professional response is that! The claim is now into its 5th month and although I emailed the claim handler a week ago asking for an update, I still have no reply. They can’t even respond to an email in 7 days! I also asked for contact details for the head of the total loss department, and they wouldn’t give them to me, disgusting service. I have made complaint to the FOS and the FSA (financial governing bodies) as well as Ageas themselves. Next step will be the press and the courts! Reviewed on: 10th April 2019

Confused!

I received an email from Ageas warning me if I didn’t pay the outstanding premium of £0.00 (yes! ZERO), within one week they would cancel my policy and charge me £50 for doing so! The email then went on about how important it is to have insurance and that I would not be covered. Received the email on a Sunday morning and no customer service open. Hopeless! Rediculess

Ageas Law have had my personal injury claim settled for 5 months now. They have a cheque in my name that they keep delaying sending. I have had 5 case workers since i started the claim due to staff quitting. When asking to speak to a manager it take 48 hours for a call back... then you get no call back and have to start the process again. Id avoid by all costs Reviewed on: 21st September 2018

unfairly voided my policy after 3 months

They are the underwriter for my car insurance policy. After being insured for 3 months, I received a letter asking me to send them a list of documents the very same day else they would void my policy. I did not have all the documents with me on that day, then they voided my policy. Their hasty decision has left a black mark on my insurance record i.e. my premium has more than doubled and I cannot get any temporary cover. AVOID AGEAS AT ALL COSTS Reviewed on: 27th March 2018

Please avoide using this company

My car was resently place with this company by insurance brookers Brightside My car was subsequently stolen ( this i might add i had nothing to do with) firstly they have been left waiting for month the customer service has been compleatly unintrested and continuosly fobbed me off They are using inaccurate information to prejudice the claim in there favour the customer service is shocking at best They are trying every tric in the book to not to pay the claim. they will also no let me know where the vehicle is being kept or return my key. this case is now with the financial ombudsman. please read other online reviews where there are many other horrific case of how ageas other customer Brightside insurance broker have also been extremely un helpful Reviewed on: 17th July 2017
