Scammers

On Sunday the 7th April 2024, my washer while in spin mode started smoking. (Please, see photo attached). I contacted argos on twitter straight away. Especially as my washer was only brought on the 18th December 2023 and delivered on 21st December 2023. So by the time this happened it was barely 3 months old. So it is under warranty still. My last washer last me 12 years, the one before that 10 years. So you can imagine how shocked, upset and stressed I am over this machine not even lasting 5% of the time they did. Argos arranged for pacifica engineer to attend on the 16th April 2024. I turned up at the same time as the gentleman and greated him friendly. He was off but I took that as his not a people person. He came in returned to his van than come back. The form deleted information on him after he took photo of my photo I had of it smoking. He then pulled it out checked the plug, then checked the drum by spinning it half way. He then told us he was done, I reminded him about retaking the photo, he said it was done. As he was leaving I asked him how long until we know and he told me they will ring within 24hours to arrange delivery of new washer. I then continually messaged argos on twitter. They kept saying they haven't had the report back. Finally today 22nd April 2024 I was contacted to be told he found no faults and it was safe to use. They also informed me I have to pay £95 (as I've been getting quotes) to provide my own report. Even after I sent video of it smoking again, they informed me not to use it. I was also promised a call back today from an executive manager that never happened. Today after me threatening legal action to argos and pacifica as they have placed our lives in danger, Argos started deleting messages on Twitter. This is extremely poor customer service. I did originally just want a machine swap but now I want a full refund. As I will go to curry's as I have done before. A copy of email to trading standards Reviewed on: 23rd April 2024

Disgusting

After having my care plan for more than five years I've never been treated so poorly and never would I have thought to be called a liar on the phone bad customer service to the max will no be keeping this plan and very disappointed with Argos Reviewed on: 12th December 2023

Excellent customer service

Bought a product which developed a fault within a week. I was advised that I’m still within a 14 day period in order to add cover for my product. The Argos colleague signed me up in store and I was provided with cover for my product after the manufactures warranty this cover would continue after that this gave me peace of mind. Reviewed on: 31st July 2023

Loaded 3 year breakdown warranty

The 3-year extended warranty only allows for one replacement product (which I cannot see mentioned in the small print) if they deem the item has to be written off. My Ninja was faulty and was sent for repair through Domestic and General. Domestic and General decided it should be written off today. I was told that now I would have to buy a new extended warranty for any new machine I purchased from Argos (via their voucher). Considering I the Ninja was just over 12 months old and it was faulty (although I see that I am covered for accidental damage if it was my fault), why should I be penalised to take out another policy? In other words the £69.99 I paid for the insurance last year could be seen as payment for the repair or even the equivalent of an insurance excess. I see that now the 3-year insurance premium has also gone up in price. Not at all happy about this and I have logged a complaint with Domestic and General. I am also looking to take to a consumer advice body, for further advice etc. Reviewed on: 16th May 2023
