Not worth the money

Paid £1100 for a 36 month plan in late 2023. Had various claims, none of which were ever paid out. WW threw the "fair wear and tear" or "not covered" phrase at me every time. The warranty was not worth the paper it was written on. When I bought a new car in Dec 2025, with a free WW warranty from the dealer, they were on me within hours trying to get me to upgrade. They kept quiet about the 11 months worth of warranty I had left on my previous car until I mentioned it. In spite of the 11 months transferred from my previous car, plus the 6 months I had from the dealer, they discounted only £120 off a £600 12 month warranty. The sums just don't add up. Most of these warranty companies are rip offs - if you're an AA member you may get a better deal with the AA. I have heard ALA Warranty mentioned as a better alternative - not tested though. I bought the car in September and it had no problems until now. I had a warranty and ı extended it last month. I'm experiencing problems with the car for the first time and I contacted you. I took the car to the main dealership service center, they checked it and said there was a fault in the multimedia system and that it needed to be replaced. I contacted you, but you rejected my application, saying it was just a loss of image, etc. It's not just a loss of image; the entire multimedia system isn't working. The main dealership also told you this. They called and you said the screen wasn't covered under warranty. It's not just the screen; the entire multimedia system is faulty, and they said this is a systemic fault. You're rejecting it. My lawyer and I have reviewed your policy The problem is not just with the screen's appearance or performance. The problem is that there is an fault in the entire multimedia system The main dealer called you and this time you said it didn't cover the screen. First you said any reduction in performance or appearance of the Display Screen is excluded on all plans and therefore we are unable to authorise your request. After main dealer said system not working completely You said we not covering screen Which main dealer told you all screen unit need to replace which is multimedia Which I got covered I called your company sale team with a different number different name and told them I wanted to get warranty with a different license plate. I recorded everything what they said about cover They confirmed screen is covered under warranty %100 they confirmed over the phone Same policy which I have I record everything You can be sure I will present this as evidence in court. Warrenty wise what a terrible service bought a second hand car off a dealer he paid for platinum Warrenty for 1 year was contacted by the sales team from Warrenty wise to see if I wanted to extend the warranty sounded really good at the time I was rushed for a decision to take the plan out but I agreed I needed something in place Incase something happened to my car what they didn’t explain was that any claim you make while your paying for your Warrenty will be taken off what you owe them I couldn’t find a garage to take on Warrenty wise they all said to much of a headache i asked for my plan to be cancelled due to no one wanting to work with Warrenty wise then a guy came on the phone we can help you with finding a garage through aa prestige which I thought brilliant they booked the car in for me the car has been gone 4 days still not been sorted out they said the full bill will be paid no problem so I was really happy then I had a email a couple of hours later saying I have to pay the bill of £500 and they will send me a cheque for £160 something and the other 160 will come off what I owe them the remainder was a excess I didn’t know about till today when asked about paying the bill they said it will be paid out in full …. they’ve left me in a position I can’t afford the garage bill and my car is in the garage with a outstanding balance I only found out that they take the money off the bill after the car is nearly due to be collected don’t waste your money on this company they sound great but won’t pay the garage for the work make sure you check everything is covered all Mechanical and electrical platinum cover (the top cover you can get ) don’t cover 02 sensors or catalytic converters it’s an additional add on . absolutely terrible them booking a car into a garage for me knowing full well they not going to pay the bill Reviewed on: 23rd October 2025

SCAMMERS, AVOID THEM!!!

Surprise surprise they refused to fix my car took out car finance and they included this scam company warranty wise. I paid 1200 for the highest cover over 2 years. 6 months later my car has an oil leak. So I read what my warranty covers and it says oil leaks. So I take it to my local garage and I was warned by a customer who dealt with warranty wise before that warranty wise are scammers and will use the excuse its wear and tear to not pay you. The car was at the garage 4 days!! until warranty wise decided they're not going to pay for it fixing due to..... you guessed it, wear and tear. They don't actually cover anything. They always use the excuse wear and tear. They take your money and will never ever pay for your car fixing. Do not ever use this company. AA are the ones to go with. I'm now in contact with my lawyer to sue them for my remaining money back as they've just basically scammed me. Please please please stay well away from this company, they will steal your hard earned money!!! So l've been without a car for 4 days. I paid £1200 for a fake warranty and I'm now over £1000 down in repair bills!!! Get ready for warranty wise to reply to this with we're very sorry to hear this bla bla bla rubbish AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!! They reject every claim you make and even when you can prove that their terms and conditions should cover the claim, they completely ignore your emails. Furious and Deeply Let Down!!

Furious and Deeply Let Down – A Complete Disgrace of a Warranty Provider! I am absolutely furious and beyond disappointed with this so-called warranty company, if i could mark a negative score i would as they don't even deserve a 1 star review. As a trusted small car sales business, we’ve sold their warranties to our customers under the belief that we were offering them reliable, professional cover. That trust has now been completely destroyed. We clearly selected emissions cover when building the warranty and entered the correct vehicle mileage. When a claim was submitted, it was rejected with the excuse that the parts had “reached the end of their life.” This is not only incredibly vague, but a complete contradiction of their own Terms & Conditions — which clearly states in Additional cover Section C, page 8 Emissions failure This is for the repair cost of reconditioning or where a reconditioned part cannot be located, replacing your vehicle's catalytic converter, diesel particulate filter, exhaust gas recirculation valve, oxygen, nitrous oxide or adblue/Eloys sensor, injectors or pump, (CAT, EGR, LAMBDA, NOX), due to your vehicle failing the exhaust emissions test. Section E, page 13 What your warranty does not cover UNLESS THE EMMISSIONS SECTION IS INCLUDED IN YOUR WARRANTY!!! CARBON BLOCKAGE (SOOT BUILD UP) SUCH AS CAT (CATALITIC CONVERTERS) EGR (EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE) that if a part cannot be repaired, a reconditioned part will be supplied. That clause was simply ignored. We can have the part reconditioned, however they are refusing to pay stating its an end of life part irrespective of the statements above. Section E, Page 13 What your warranty does not cover Worn out parts- Including break disks and drums brake pads and shoes clutch components any part covered by the other plan warranty guarantee or goodwill after settlement. I'm sorry but your contradicting your own statements here in Section C, page 8 Emissions failure This is exactly the sort of disgraceful behavior that gives the motor trade a bad name. It's nothing short of deceptive. We sold these warranties in good faith, and now we’re the ones left looking like liars in front of our customers. Scott, our account manager, made repeated promises over the phone — saying poor reviews were just from customers who hadn't chosen the best level of cover. Well, we did choose the correct cover. And now that a claim has been made, Scott has a script to stick to along with the other colleagues in the office about the end of life components!! They have recently appeared on the Harry’s Garage YouTube channel and were absolutely torn apart in the comments — and now we know exactly why. The product is completely unreliable, their word means nothing, and the claims process is a sham. To say we feel let down is an understatement. We will no longer be associating our business with this company, and we strongly urge others to do the same. If you care about your customers, do not touch this warranty provider. They are happy to take your money, but when it comes to honoring a claim, they disappear behind loopholes and excuses. Absolutely charming and full of promises at the start and then turns out its all just a big fat Con at the finish. Repairs declined

I recently purchased a used VW Touareg. I discovered a serious oil leak shortly after taking possession. I reported this to the car dealer, they informed they would contact their chosen warrant provider – Warrantywise - Platinum cover, I was told this would cover almost all problems . I could not find a garage locally who would undertake work on behalf of Warrantywise, Warrantywise found a garage 35 miles from me to inspect the car’s oil leak. After complaining about the distance Warrantywise found a garage close to me, they identified the oil leak problem (incorrectly) and sent a report off to Warrantywise. After a few days I had a reply from Warrantywise , they declined to cover the cost of repairing the oil leak as they put it down to “fair wear and tear”. The only activity this company does with any conviction is to keep contact the customer to extend the warranty. Not fit for purpose. Reviewed on: 29th May 2025

Avoid Them Like The Plague

Purchased a used vehicle from garage in Tamworth with a 6 month Platinum Warranty provided by garage but through Warranty Wise. Vehicle was purchased 24/09/25 so warranty should start from that date, so when car arrived a week later (I live in Scotland) I got it inspected and found instrument cluster was faulty so made claim on 05/10/2025 for repair, they rejected it due to policy not being submitted on time, they said it started 09/10/2025. So after arguing case with garage who said it starts on day of purchase WW agreed to pay 50% of cost as garage good customer to them Fast forward to renewal time I find out policy did start on day of purchase and should have been covered, so again contacts them to argue case, the answer this time that it was an existing fault and wouldn't be covered. They are dirty lying scumbags and should be put out of business for robbing people, there are plenty of reviews similar to mine, so this ain't a one off. I don't know if there is an ombudsman for these types of companies, and if not there should be. So anyone thinking of taking out a policy with this lot, AVOID, they'll do everything in their power to avoid paying, even when caught telling blatant lies. Avoid Warrantywise at all costs!!!!!!!!

I took out a high-level policy with Warrantywise, trusting their promises that it would give me peace of mind and cover essential repairs. However, when I needed them the most, they refused to pay out, hiding behind technicalities and exclusions that were never properly explained at the time of purchase. I was explicitly told by their sales team that my policy would cover all major mechanical repairs as long as I maintained servicing. That turned out to be completely false. When my car broke down, I was left stranded with a huge repair bill and no real support from Warrantywise. I requested a recording of my sales call from January 2023, and after carefully listening to it, I can still confirm that I was misled. They do not send you the full policy documents when you sign up, instead burying important details in a link within an email. If, like me, you trusted them from the start, be ready for a nasty surprise when you try to claim. To make matters worse, they had the cheek to claim they went ‘above and beyond’ by offering to cover the cost of the parts—which was only about 20% of the total repair bill. They frame it as if they’re being generous, but in reality, it’s just a way to make you feel they are being fair when they are not. Please do not be tricked. If you’re thinking of signing up, read everything carefully and double-check all the details. A lot of the positive reviews are from people who have JUST signed up—but once you actually try to make a claim, it’s a completely different story. Even multiple garages I spoke to warned me that Warrantywise rarely pays out, and I wish I had listened. The cost of their policy is almost the same as a more reputable provider, so do yourself a favour and go with a company that will actually give you peace of mind when you need it. Save your money—get a credit card instead. Rather than paying into a policy that will likely let you down, put that money aside or use a credit card when you actually need repairs. At least that way, you’re in control, rather than relying on a company that will do everything possible to avoid paying. Avoid Warrantywise at all costs.
