Quick claims and great value, low fixed excess

Argos cover for max of I think £7.5k per condition, per year, but they also have a very low fixed excess and I have never had a copayment % added which is so beneficial to me and keeps me loyal to them. If my other pets didn't have pre-existing conditions I would move them to Argos too. Claims have been quick or super quick and can now be submitted online by me. My only negative points would be to say I would like the choice to have a slightly higher cover level. The premium does shoot up when your pet hits around 8 years, no matter if you've claimed much, just like all of the pet insureres, but for me it has now stayed pretty steady. The low excess and lack of % is such a huge bonus though. This is the pet insurance I always recommend to friends who don't have loads of spare cash for unexpected bills. Got equivalent cover at under half the £450 they want. Usual insurance trick of hoping you're too busy to read the renewal. Reviewed on: 1st May 2022

refused to pay

Our dog had been to the vets previously for her anal glands smelling. I insured her with Argos, and a few weeks later took her back to the vets for her anal glands again. The Vet said further tests revealed a polyp which required surgery costing £1000. Argos refused to contribute claiming that it "was a previous medical condition". I wouldn't recommend them and will not be renewing. Reviewed on: 2nd January 2022

Waste of money!

Absolutely appalling service regarding our claim. They have declined our claim with the flimsiest excuse that it might be connected with the cat's previous visit to the vet. Even our vet can't believe that the claim has been declined. Wish I hadn't wasted my money paying them any premiums! Reviewed on: 21st December 2021
