Review of the Autonet Insurance, Van Insurance:

Potentially acting fraudulentlly

1
I loaned my friend my van 2 weeks ago, he had an accident. I asked if could make a claim, they said no because he was not a named driver. That was fine, he is paying me out of his own pocket. No claim made. So I had to find another van Today they will not swap over or refund my policy because there is an open claim, even though they told me there is no cover. I checked there is no claim with the underwriters or the Accident Management Company. I have now wasted 3 hours this morning getting passed from one department to another. Still on the phone waiting. In dealing with Insurance Companies for 33 Years this is one of the worst companies to deal with. They decided to keep the money even though there has been no claim. No allowed to speak to a supervisor. Reviewed on: 23rd October 2024

Rip Off - read the small print as you can't get out of their policies

1
Just another usncrupulous insurance company. As soon as you need to make any changes to your policy you will discover that you can't. You're locked in and the fees to get out are extortionate. Reviewed on: 26th April 2022

Rip off

1
Went with them because they were lowest premium, what a mistake l am sorry now. I needed to remove a private plate on my vehicle so change the registration number on my policy most insurance companys allow this free online but autonet charge £17.50 because they only use agents to process changes to your policy you cant do it yourself via an on line website. When I came to cancel my policy again only allowed through calling an agent, they charge £50 company fee and then another £50 broker's fee, so £100!! Totally unacceptable other companies do not charge such high amounts.they told me it would have been even higher if I had opted for monthly payments and not a one off annual payment. Total ripoff I would never use them again or advise anyone else to do so. Reviewed on: 20th April 2022

Dreadful service

Avoid this company their level of service is dreadful even for an insurance company Reviewed on: 8th April 2022

1
Autonet said they sent renewal notices but they did not , took a years payment unauthorised Only knew because paperwork actual came the year after trying to renew again Disgraceful ! Reviewed on: 19th January 2022

Scam artists

1
Did not renew my insurance with them they still went ahead and stole £57 from my account and are now looking for £160 of me for a policy I did not ask did not renew and did not sign any contract there using the signed contract from year before as the excuse to rip people off so now it’s costing me £217 for a policy I did not want or ask for theft of the highest order these people should be in prison for white collar crime Reviewed on: 3rd December 2021

Will never use this inept company again.

Was passed on to Autonet by AA, when AA stopped doing vans. After ringing regarding an accident claim, Autonet passed me on to Allianz (another I won't use), Allianz passed me to Autonet, who passed me to either AA or back to Allianz, this went on for a day! on the phone, Autonet calls being premium rate.. Autonet couldn't find that I had no claims protection and legal protection, passing me back to AA, who said, 'we no longer do vans, ask Autonet', who then passed me back to Allianz, who said, 'That's not part of our cover, Autonet deals with that side', Eventually Autonet said, we think you are covered for legal protection but not sure who with, eventually giving me a number to call, which was answered by an irate private householder who kept receiving those calls. At one point, Autonet person transferred me to a department that didn't exist, it was just the reception number, they knew nothing of it. Between Autonet and Allanz, they stitched me up by claiming they had a pic of the other vehicle stopped on the verge, as having attempted to avoid the accident (I had driven onto the verge), a picture I HAD TAKEN, and kindly sent to the other driver too, just of the damage (not the accident scene), and AFTER we had parted the cars and I had suggested she drive onto the grass so other vehicles could pass. I gave up bothering with it all. Months later, I sent email to Allianz and Autonet to see what the result was, regarding no claims, and being able to claim my no claim excess costs off the other insurer. They said, 'this has all been resolved', and sent a misdated copy of their 'apparent' letter to me (which I'd never seen before), later sending another copy with a different date. Ridiculous. Very poor customer service - Beware

1
I recently purchased car insurance from Autonet and was very disappointed with the customer service I received. There was a query regarding a windscreen replacement that I had done a while ago. I phoned them and this was resolved within 5 minutes. Despite me carefully wording an email, they ignored it and sent rude emails insisting on charging me an "admin fee" despite no changes at all to the policy and this was before cover had even began! I would have cancelled out of principle but no doubt they would have charged me a "cancellation fee" so have reluctantly left it. Suffice to say I will never be putting any further business through this company and neither will any of my friends or family. Reviewed on: 1st October 2020

Unethical

1
A joke company that bids on insurance quotes that aren't true, 2 sec after buying they try to get more money out of you. If you don't play their game they scam it and make you out of balance instead to fully refund for not using their insurance policy. Absolutely ridiculous and unethical!! Reviewed on: 18th May 2020
