Poor coverage

I paid for the highest package offered. Yet was refused insurance for accidental damage on my suitcase. Overall not impressed and they make it difficult to sort anything over the phone. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2023

total rip off they are good at giving you a quote and extracting money off you until one day you need them my wife broke her thumb in a cruise cabin door to which this cost me £ 1,100 in medical costs they have paid me £ 264 after numerous un answered phone calls and emails they are a pain to deal with as they use a third party claims firm ( dont answer they save money) KEEP WELL AWAY Reviewed on: 10th May 2023

Avanti Travel Insurance IS A TOTALLY FRAUDULENT ORGANISATION

when I had to claim for repatriation, following emergency abdominal surgery abroad, Avanti said my travel insurance with them policy was invalid because travel to eh country in question was advised against by HM government because of covid restrictions. I didn’t know this, but Avanti insurance, with whom I discussed my trip before going, knew this and could have told me. But in the spirit of the Kray brothers, they let me go, to take my premium, but then declared the policy they had sold me to be invalid. the financial ombudsman service, whose fees Avanti pay like all other regulated companies, merely supported Avanti. Avoid!!!!

This company is a complete rip-off!! Got diagnosed with cancer halfway through my policy - was told that my cover was now void and was not due a refund for the oustanding 6 months of cover as this in their terms and conditions. I was completely shocked. I honestly feel robbed. I will never ever deal with this company and have told my friends, work colleagues and customers the same. Reviewed on: 16th January 2023

babies not covered.....

WOW, just been told that if a babies passport is not being held by them its not covered by the travel insurance! A BABY! We had our families passports stolen and they refused to pay out as the chidren were not holding their own passports. We paid for a family cover. Reviewed on: 17th October 2022

Babies must carry own passports to be insured!

We claimed on our family poilcy for stolen passports and they refused to pay on our chidren's passports as they were not on them at the time of theft. So babies and chidlren can only claim for theft if they are holding the passports when stolen. Reviewed on: 17th October 2022

Declare EVERY pre-existing condition.

Tore skin on ankle 10 days before travel. Minor. Dressed by nurses prior to holiday. Wound became infected whilst on holiday. Phoned help line for guidance. Conversation shut down when informed injury pre-existing and not declared. No advice. On return asked if an in growing toenail would need to be declared in case of infection. Answer-YES! ALL previous medical conditions to be declared! At 79 years of age that would be reams of paperwork!! Buyer beware!!! Reviewed on: 15th October 2022
