Good bank, Good Customer Service, bad at making appointments

5
Trying to get an appointment with an advisor at the bank is like trying to find someone leaving a sinking ship, theirs either staff holidays or they only work part time, other than that its a good bank with a comprehensive amount of products and a good range of branches, though my local is bad 9.30-4.30 and 10.30-.430 on Wednesdays so not the best on that respect. OK

I only keep this account going because a branch is close to where I live. No perks such as cashback each month Reviewed on: 28th August 2015

Impressed life long customer

I have been a Barclays customer pretty much all of my life and I have had no issues about the quality of the service or day to day banking. The fees have been fair and transparent to me which is something important to me. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Can get better accounts

Used to bank with Barclays but too many problems nad bank staff always seemed unable to deal with and had to refer to Head Office. Now switched to another bank which pay a reward each month Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Been with Barclays for years, but looking for another...

I've been with Barclays for my current account all my life - it just seemed easier to stick with the same one. No more though - I plan to change as soon as possible as one too many times they have disappointed me. Even their Student account was the least flexible when I attended uni between 2004-2007. Recently their overdraft charges have become extortionate - you get charged 75p per day if you're up to £100 overdrawn, £1.50 per day if you're up to £300 overdrawn and a staggering £3 per day if you're overdrawn by £300+. This was sprung upon me one day and started the next week - I was cruising along at minus £700, and suddenly had to find a way to get out of it, lest I end up paying £90 a month interest. It's ridiculous. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Fantastic customer service, wherever and whenever.

Barclay's, possibly one of the best financial services I've ever had experience with. Not only do they understand their customers, but they also try to resolve your problems to the best of their ability. Security is a at the highest I've ever seen with a Bank - highly recommended for your everyday current account. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Can't change your name in any branch.

1
I've been a Barclays customer since I was a teenager, so they've seen me through my GCSEs, university days, buying my first house and now getting married. I popped to my local branch with my wedding certificate to change my name, only to be told that they can't do that in this particular branch. What is the point in having a branch in your village if you can't perform something simple like a name change? Reviewed on: 25th August 2015

helpful customer service.

First of all the call centre staff are always very helpful although it is not always easy to understand what they are saying. Online banking is smooth and easy. The one downside is the charge for unpaid transactions. £8 for already being skint! Harsh when it costs only a fraction of that for them. Reviewed on: 14th August 2015

Great in theory but totally unreliable.........

I switched to Barclays from HSBC because I preferred to use Barclays brilliant app. I demoed the app and loved it for its simplicity and the fact I could get it on Windows phone and iPad. Unfortunately the grass isn't always greener. The app rarely works and is riddled with bugs. Barclays seems to try hard but the reality is that it's a frustrating account to use. I think it would be the best account out there is they got it working like it is supposed to. Reviewed on: 13th August 2015
