When they came and looked at it, I had to go a find him in our car park because he couldn't find the house (everyone else manages it) and he then talked down to me for five minutes before deciding the freezer was irreparable. They offered my three alternative replacements which were completely unsuitable because they'd listed the wrong current device. They also claimed the policy I had yet to be given a number for had expired!! and I had to take out another one to get a replacement. Sent an email to their CE and they are now abusing the Data Protection Act requirements to delay doing anything. Now reported to the Financial Conduct Authority and the Data Protection Commissioner. Hotpoint ‘engineer’ (I say that loosely) turned up with no parts and had to come back a week later. Turned up today and the parts don’t work. He stated to me he’d tried everything and that I’d need a replacement. Happily choosing my new washing machine only to receive an email saying they’re coming again IN ANOTHER WEEK with all the parts that are needed and no mention of my new machine. It will have been 2 1/2 weeks without a washing machine for a household of 6 with a vulnerable elderly female whose sheets are changed daily. I am beyond livid. D&G are offering me £499!!... after many many calls and emails. I still don't have the settlement. Customer service staff constantly contradict themselves. Promise a call back which NEVER happens. Complete incompetence all round. Won't give a telephone number to escalate the complaint. This has caused me so much stress for the last 6 days I actually now feel unwell. I am considering speaking to the BBC Watchdog programme as I know 3 other people that are also having problems with D&G...... please, please don't trust this company?
