Proud to have been one of the first investors in 1981

I was one of the first investors in the Ecology Building Society in 1981, and have been a saver ever since. The Society has grown, but the staff are as ready to engage as they were when I was a Foundation Share Holder. The AGMs are always a highlight with guest speakers and reinforce how much good the Ecology does to improve and finance interesting community and private developments. Reviewed on: 1st October 2024

Friendly accessible account and organisation.

practical ethical savings

I have saved with the Ecology Building Society for about two decades now, as I want to support their aim of helping build and renovate ecologically sound homes. I have always found the staff efficient and friendly and will stay with them for the foreseeable future. Reviewed on: 7th April 2021

Excellent ethical and environmental choice

The Ecology Building Society is unique amongst UK financial institutions in its ethical stance and environmental objectives. I have been a customer of the Society for about 30 years and have 2 savings accounts, including a cash ISA. Ethical and Efficient

Not only is the Ecology Building society, ethical, but any response we have needed from them has been quick and efficiently dealt with. Details of any changes that would affect us as customers are sent well in advance. Newsletters keep us informed of the projects they are working with and any other relevant news. I have been a saver with the Ecology Building Society for many years. I appreciate the ethical aspect of their products, the staff's approachability and efficiency. Recollections of a non-executive board member, 1986 - 2000

I became a non executive director of the Ecology Building Society in 1986. I served in this role until the year 2000. We were a remarkable board: between us, there was a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. We gave up our time to promote the society's work; our AGM's were well attended by the Society's membership. Each gave proper attention to the formal tasks but also developed fellowship between ourselves as directors, the staff and the members. In planning the AGM, we gave space to other green concerns to share their concerns.
