Ecology Cash ISA - friendly and sustainable

I have had a cash ISA with Ecology for about 3 years. It has performed well in this time. They have always been open and honest about the performance of the ISA and why decisions are being made. As a co-operative I feel involved in the membership leading the bank to invest ethically and sustainably. Whilst I have not been able to attend events, I understand that the membership meetings are lovely experiences. The website is useful, the communication is great, and I am excited for the new app coming soon. It is nice to feel confident that my bank is ethical and sustainable. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

I have been with Ecology for decades!

I have been with Ecology for decades - since the days of hand written passbooks and envelope re-use labels to post cheques! The shift to the online portal has been efficient, offering straightforward and secure savings. Knowing my savings are used for good is important, and knowing I can add to them or withdraw easily is also important. Ecology succeeds on all those fronts. Highly recommend, saving for my children's future isn't just about saving in an account, it's about ensure they have a planet to inherit too. Reviewed on: 13th March 2026

I absolutely trust the Ecology Building Society with my savings and hopefully, in the future, with a mortgage. They are very responsive to any questions that I have, and I highly vaue their focus on ethical systems, and community building. 20 years a customer

I've been with the Ecology for over 20 years, and always glad to be a customer. One of the very few financial institutions that has a genuinely ethical and responsible approach. No gimmicks or special offers, just simple savings products with decent interest rates. In the past, the online banking was cumbersome, but it's now fine. So good to know your money is supporting other people who need loans to buy, build and renovate properties, rather than going to pay banker bonuses. Also a small company based here in Yorkshire, so what is not to like. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2025
