I discovered Ecology Building Society through Ethical Consumer Magazine and opened two savings accounts with them. As a smaller building society, they offer a truly personal touch. They are highly professional, efficient, and very helpful - always keen to assist with any queries or support you might need. It’s brilliant to have a green and ethical alternative to the planet-wrecking, consciousness-lacking traditional banks. Their savings accounts also offer better interest rates compared to Triodos (who are also amazing and provide a broader range of services). I was especially pleased to hear that Ecology Building Society is opening a new branch to serve underserved communities - quite the opposite of what most of their competitors are doing, and yet so crucial!     I selected Ecology Building Society to invest some money because of their values. I found it interesting reading reviews of how is has financed eco... I selected Ecology Building Society to invest some money because of their values. I found it interesting reading reviews of how is has financed eco projects. I receive an invite to attend the AGM which always looks interesting as members who have benefitted from mortgages or loans talk about their experience. But the venue is too far way. But I get to read about it. I would not hesitated to recommend the Ecology Building Society to other people who want to see their money be used in an ecologically friendly way.. Read more Read less

    Ecology Cash ISA - friendly and sustainable

    I have had a cash ISA with Ecology for about 3 years. It has performed well in this time. They have always been open and... I have had a cash ISA with Ecology for about 3 years. It has performed well in this time. They have always been open and honest about the performance of the ISA and why decisions are being made. As a co-operative I feel involved in the membership leading the bank to invest ethically and sustainably. Whilst I have not been able to attend events, I understand that the membership meetings are lovely experiences. The website is useful, the communication is great, and I am excited for the new app coming soon. It is nice to feel confident that my bank is ethical and sustainable. Read more Read less

The shift to the online portal has been efficient, offering straightforward and secure savings. Knowing my savings are used for good is important, and knowing I can add to them or withdraw easily is also important. Ecology succeeds on all those fronts.
