An Ethical Alternative in Mainstream Banking

Nationwide is a great environmentally sound and ethical alternative to the planet-wrecking, consciousness-lacking traditional banks. While they are not as green as, for example, Triodos or Ecology Building Society, they offer a broader range of services and are mainstream—a household name. They also provide a substantial number of local branches, making them easily accessible. Their employees, both online and in branches, are friendly and knowledgeable, always keen to help with any queries or concerns. I have been banking with them for eight years and have been very happy, although more recently I have reduced the number of products I hold with them in favour of even more environmentally and ethically focused providers: Triodos and Ecology Building Society, both of whom I can also highly recommend. An Ethical Alternative in Mainstream Banking

Nationwide is a great environmentally sound and ethical alternative to the planet-wrecking, consciousness-lacking traditional banks. While they are not as green as, e.g. Triodos or Ecology Building Society, they offer a broader range of services (includind credit cards) and are mainstream - a household name. They also provide a substantial number of local branches, making them easily accessible. Their employees, both online and in branches, are friendly and knowledgeable, always keen to help with any queries or concerns. I have been banking with them for eight years and have been very happy, although more recently I have reduced the number of products I hold with them in favour of even more environmentally and ethically focused providers: Triodos and Ecology Building Society, both of whom I can also highly recommend. Ethical Building Society with a Personal Touch

I discovered Ecology Building Society through Ethical Consumer Magazine and opened two savings accounts with them. As a smaller building society, they offer a truly personal touch. They are highly professional, efficient, and very helpful - always keen to assist with any queries or support you might need. It’s brilliant to have a green and ethical alternative to the planet-wrecking, consciousness-lacking traditional banks. Their savings accounts also offer better interest rates compared to Triodos (who are also amazing and provide a broader range of services). I was especially pleased to hear that Ecology Building Society is opening a new branch to serve underserved communities - quite the opposite of what most of their competitors are doing, and yet so crucial! A Brilliant Ethical Bank

I’m so grateful to Triodos for providing an environmentally sound, ethical alternative to the planet-wrecking, profit-first traditional banks that lack consciousness.
