Review of the Fidor Bank, Smart Current Account:

Awesome bank in its early stages

4
A very customer orientated bank that listens to its customers. It is not that problems happen, but how a bank listens to its customers and fixes the problem after that counts. Fidor has proven itself in this, and will continue to do so throughout the years. The UK side is taking a unique approach by developing its products in line with what its customers want, the downside of this is that it takes time to listen to customers and then develop what they are after (instead of developing a bunch of products then telling customers this is what they get). The other fault about Fidor UK is that it needs to be more autonomous as relying upon the German branch for important matters has shown to slow down the UK operations resulting in the occasional dissatisfied customer. If it was always as speedy as it should be we'd have 99.9% satisfaction (you can't please all the people). I also very look forward to FidorUK's eventual interaction with the emerging digital (crypto) market, and taking a solid lead in this sector. Reviewed on: 17th February 2016

New in the UK. But at least they listen to customers

4
Although Fidor is relatively new to the UK (Sept15?) they have succeeded in creating an online community which communicates with the bank and each other. Any 'issues' are dealt with swiftly and openly. Their recent request for people to scan and email unencrypted passport details was acknowledged as being a mistake and they are putting in place better ways for clients to communicate. The recent Quiz was a great way for the community to come together and, I'm sure, there will be other events like this. It's refreshing to meet a Bank that cares AND listens Reviewed on: 17th February 2016

Dire customer service

Absolutely hopeless customer service. Took them 16 days to tell me that, as I could not provide a copy of a passport, I could not open an account with them Reviewed on: 12th February 2016
