Travel ready

I recently went on holiday and purchased travel ready from Halifax. Bought some jewellery for 10,000$. Only to be charged £300 for the privilege. On the phone for 58 minutes to register complaint. Initial reaction from them was they refund charges. Taking it further to FCA if no joy very poor customer relations Reviewed on: 11th July 2023

Constant blocks!

Im living in Japan for a year as an exchange student and Halifax has made my life a living hell. They keep blocking my card due to me using it in Japan. I keep calling and tell them its me and that Ill be in Japan for a year, asking them to STOP blocking it all the time since I have to pay my rent and EAT. They keep unblocking then blocking again once I resolve the issue. Im absolutely sick of them and nearly ended up homeless because I couldn't withdraw cash to pay my landlord. Im gonna order a Monzo card to Japan and transfer my money onto there. Absolutely NEVER using Halifax again! Worst part is, customer service said they can block whenever they want. Absolutely vile, even after I explained that the Japanese currency is not fraud! Reviewed on: 14th March 2023

Awful service

Ordered travel money in November for a trip in December. Currency arrived in January!! Took lots of calls, online chat and visits to branch for little help or assistance. Will never use again. Reviewed on: 30th January 2023

Quick and easy

I only really needed €50 to have a bit of cash on me for a holiday to spain. I felt a bit silly going in and just asking for a small amount but after a bit of a queue the cashier put me at ease by being polite and asking about my holiday. Reviewed on: 16th September 2015
