Very poor Platform and Service

Business phone banking delays of up to 2 hours, bad app ecosystem, slow and inflexible. On the plus side they've been around for a long time, but not in a great capacity. Reviewed on: 5th July 2021

very poor, very long

log time to set up, then locked out on my first payment above 2k eventhough you used the in number generator thing, rang the number they approved the amount but said i had to go to a branch to unlock... ok I get to the branch they send me away saying they cannot unlock please ring this different number. Over an hour on the phone waiting for a service agent........when does it get to the point where its costing me too much time to 'pay' myself Reviewed on: 7th October 2020

Money stuck with HSBC bank

I am writing to you in regards to my account being under review. I had opened a new business account with HSBC to get foreign currency account service as we had done a joint venture with a german based company to invest in UK on properties. After a hard work we came to this agreement and were expecting a initial start up funds from germany. My client send me the confirmation of his swift transfer. I contacted the bank regarding thi fund i was expecting. Went to a branch and over the phone, but they said the money has not reached HSBC. I contacted my client and they send me a tracer copy which mentioned the money is with HSBC. So i decided to visit canada square branch and ask as that the address mentioned on tracer copy. The staff was helpful and started investigating with the help of tracer copy. After 30 mins of wait the staff came back and said the money is here, but the my account in with review department. I asked why is that and he was unable to answer. I said atleast i should be given some reason as to why its with review department. Then i asked how could i contact them as this is very important for my business and my client. But nothing. I am still trying to find the reason why and when my money be credited into my account as i have to reply to my partner as its his funds and he wants us to start the work. I would be very happy if i could get some information about this. Why no one has contacted me, or no one has given any intimation as to when this is done. How do you expect us to grow our business and pay our bills and survive without our business. And this is just the start of our business account. I was very happy with lyodds in this matter. Not customer focused - do things on their own time

It took about 3 weeks to open an account. I had to chase 4 times for this to happen. The staff are responsive enough, but you need to chase them to do things if they have not done it in the time they promised. I just want to open the account and then will have very little dealings with the staff, just a shame they add almost no value to the process at all. Reviewed on: 16th May 2017

Poor communication, not bearable long waiting time for telephone banking

During the meeting with business account manager in the branch we, the account manager and I, found out my account was being charged with the service which I never applied for. The manager promised to refund the charge and stop the charge payment. Untill now, 2nd March, my account is still being charged. I emailed to the business account manager but the email failed to reach. I tried business telephone banking but the waiting time was unbearably long. When finally talked to the call agent, I was asked 3 security questions I never was told to prepare for the phone call. Now there is no way round to fix this problem as there is no business account manager available in the local branch. To fix this I have to make an appointment with branch manager or wait to receive telephone banking pack. I would not recomment HSBC Business account to anyone. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2017

Very unhappy

Last Friday proved impossible. I couldn't transact my payments online so went into branch. Payments not made then either...website magically back up the next day...not as reliable as it should be. Reviewed on: 7th September 2015
