Having banked with them wasn't only quick adaptable friendly. Having been with them for Five years in times of high inflation the rates have been entirely affordable even to say acceptable.
Would highly recommend them for start up
speciallize sole trader partnership small enterprise businesses entrepreneurship development trades.

It's hard to pick out one or a few little things that explain my great displeasure with Barclays business banking over the past 6-10 years. I will just say that I have never had a pleasant experience doing anything with them, unlike with the Nationwide where the simplicity and ease of doing this is at times a joy. Occasionally it's possible to get things done with Barclays, but it's usually a struggle and I try to delegate the work to other people to avoid the grief. I wish we'd gone with a different bank when we set up the business.

A few particular faults:
Branches are overcrowded and staff often unable to help. The staff are not at fault, it's the bank's rules and understaffing that are tying their hands.

Lots of charges and little extras that you wouldn't expect. Commission charges on $ and € purchases are ridiculous. We had to take another card elsewhere.

Terrible website that makes doing simple things difficult. It's more set up to advertise than to complete basic tasks like paying people. The log-in pages are unreliable, built with inappropriate technology.
The mobile app is also not as good as they say it is. e.g. try paying people from a long list of payees. It's like they've not actually used the app to do anything, just built a bare minimum app then put loads of money into promoting it instead of improving the user experience.

I am a Premier Customer. Recently decided (to my dissapointment) to open a new business account with Barclays. Zero communications, worst branch service ever received (unable to make a transfer of my own from my own account in branch in person after over 1.5 hours spent in branch; no reason given; still unresolved after 2 months!!!). If you want to do business, do it with anyone, but Barclays... :(

Now that our local branch has closed we have no way to pay in cheques. The mobile app will only allow 4 cheques per week, no cheques over £500, and the worst part is the long and tedious process of scanning the cheque, which rarely works first time, can sometimes take three or four attempts, has a whole range of interesting new error codes and excuses, is often completely missing from the app altogether, and to top it all we are still charged £1.50 to pay them in. It is even more frustrating than trying to stay logged into their internet banking on the computer for more than 60 seconds.

The Barclays banking app makes managing you business alot easier

Great business tools to help monitor your bank account and make payments on the move. The app "call" feature is great a most of the security is pre completed by you being logged into the app when you need to speak to someone.
