Received terrible news that I had cancer whilst away on holiday. At first great, just said sort a flight home and get treatment. but once home I now have to submit written evidence that I absolutely needed to come home early for my cancer op …. I had to cut my holiday short as my daughter was ill...

I had to cut my holiday short as my daughter was ill and went to make a claim with my fare and was denied,waste of money and a rip of as it stated on policy cold claim if had to get emergency flight home,produces all documents but still denied the money for rescheduled flight.Do not use this company they are a rip of and also rude Reviewed on: 7th November 2024

Easy from start to finish

Mis leading Travel Insurance

In my opinion LV misrepresent and mis sell their travel insurance. Why do I say this? My holiday was impacted as a result of the air traffic control problems I lost 2 days stay at the hotel. I was confident I was covered as my policy stated… £5000 cover for cancelled or shortened trips. However lv are trying to renege on this by referring to another clause (not visible on the document they sent me). I chose lv because I thought they were a trustworthy company ( I also have my car and house insurance with them currently). So, to be clear, when they state in their summary document (they don’t send the full policy document out - I wonder why?) ‘Cancellation and cutting short a trip covered up to £5000’ …….they will not pay out (hotel costs) for a trip cut short as a result of a cancelled flight, Clear as mud everyone? I am not sure how LV are allowed to mislead customers with ambiguous terminology but apparently they can. Disgraceful! Reviewed on: 21st September 2023

Fast, Friendly and Efficient!

I was forced to cancel travel plans due to illness; I had expected making a claim would be a painful and arduous process - however, I was pleasantly surprised! LV talked me through exactly what I needed to do, making it clear that they would be on hand should I need further assistance. I sent them the requisite proof of illness letter from my GP, and they processed my claim most expeditiously. Very impressed indeed, as they made what is usually quite a daunting task, simple and with minimal fuss involved. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend LV! Reviewed on: 24th August 2023
