Review of the Nationwide, Regular Savings:

Good savings rates, good app

5
Nationwide always seem to offer really good savings rates for loyal customers, particularly the regular savings accounts. One small thing I really like about their app is that you can see the interest rate easily for each account, this is such a simple thing but not always easy to find in other bank's apps. It helps me stay across my finances and know when I need to move my money around. I also have a tracker mortgage with them and similarly can review the rate at any time in the app easily. The only thing about Nationwide is it requires more authentication when paying a new payee, you need the card reader which is a hassle. Barclays and Chase are much easier for transferring small amounts to friends etc. Reviewed on: 15th February 2024

Nationwide Regular Saver

Just had my first annual regular saver with 5% interest. I put in the maximum £500 per month and had £150 interest. The best bit is that once this account matured, I could apply for another regular saver account straight away! Reviewed on: 7th April 2017

Good rate

Would be even better experience if having saved for a year in regular savings, that money could be left in the account instead of having to set up a new regular savings and starting again from scratch, leaving the saver with nowhere to earn a decent percentage with the money already saved. This is common practice I know, but Nationwide is supposed to look after it's long standing customers and I think this lets them down. Reviewed on: 6th February 2017

Fair interest rate offered for savings, good service and handy location of branches

Opened a regular saving account - convenient for my needs. 2% interest offered which is competitive. Easy to open Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

Competitive account - great interest rate, but for only 1 year!

To open this account you need to be a Nationwide customer. The account is easy to set up using online banking, and best of all, pays an unbelievable interest rate of 5% per annum. You are allowed to pay in up to a maximum of £500 per month, and the downside is that the account matures at 12 months! With most accounts these days paying a derisory low amount (less than 1%), I considered it worth starting the Nationwide Regular Saver and collecting a good rate of interest, although on a small amount of money, and short length of time! I would recommend the account, and hope that Nationwide can offer a competitive account when this account matures. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

The Nationwide savings account is great for me as i dont have to put in monthly min amount just put in what i can afford each month. Nationwide is not the highest paying interest for a savings account but for paying in when you want and easy access this just what i need. Reviewed on: 12th September 2016
