Let me down completely in my hour of need

After years of having this account for the cover benefits I actually needed to call on the breakdown recovery today as my battery is flat and I'm on holiday in the northern hills of Spain. The operator was mostly interested in finding a get out clause from helping me, which he did, as my van is self converted as a camper van, so not covered it seems. I'm leaving. I can't stay with a company that looks for how not to help you when you're in your hour of need. Read more Read less

I needed a personal loan to help pay for a divorce and a child arrangement order. Lot's of solicitor and court payments were needed. Nationwide was easy to apply and allowed me to choose the length of the term, which helped me to control my monthly payment cost. You can also pay more when you earn extra, to help pay the loan off faster. This loan really helped me during a difficult time and this allowed me to do what I needed while paying it back in a manageable way. Read more Read less

Fantastic building society, best thing I ever did was switch over to them many years ago now. II've received fair sharer payments from them yearly, as well as other monetary opportunities from them, I have been with 3 different banks/building society's and this by far for me personally is the best one that gives back to its members Read more Read less

I have been using Nationwide for years as a student and was then upgraded to the FlexDirect account, I now receive in credit interest that amounts to about 5 pounds a month! This is a nice bonus, but overall the account is very easy to use and has all the functionality I need. The app is great and much improved now you're not required to use a card reader to make purchases online anymore. I also receive the fairer share payments from Nationwide each year where they share their profits with members, which is a nice gesture and makes me keen to stay with them in the future. Overall a great experience! Read more Read less
