You are never their priority.

Between the myriad of people dragged into this small job on a claim made in June 2025, they all argued amongst themselves and lost sight of us as the customer, wasting our time, energy and any confidence we had in our insurers. In January 2026, we fixed the problem ourselves. They don't care about their customers. They care about taking your money and treating you with contempt. Reviewed on: 9th February 2026

I have a mortgage and account with Nationwide as well as home insurance. I choose to renew my home insurance with nationwide each year because the price is always the best around and I appreciate the fact that people who have a mortgage with Nationwide always get a better rate for home insurance, I feel nationwide are brilliant at looking after their customers. Water claim

My experience is based on my claims experience. I claimed for a flood in my house. It was devastating . Because of the size of the claim a claims manager was allocated to my case. I have had an almost total lack of communication and assistance. Nearly 4 months later I am still being asked questions about the claim. My helpful advice would be to engage your own assessor. You may have to pay a fee but it will save you much heart ache and they will navigate the process for you. Reviewed on: 16th March 2025

Avoid at all costs! Shocking service

Due to the high winds/storm our roof came off, leaving our house exposed to the elements. Not only were the phone lines down for an entire day, I was then told a surveyor can’t come out for two weeks. I have then been told that if I take the matter into my own hands to at least make my house watertight I might not be covered. Since then there’s now a significant amount of damage to my bedroom, with water pouring down the walls, carpets/lights damaged. An absolute joke of a service. People on the phone don’t have any idea how to deal with the claim and then I get put through to a third party who says even though they support nationwide they can’t deal with my claim. Nationwide insurance the most expensive i received

our family home has been with Nationwide building society for many years, around a decade i think, however this year the premium quote nearly doubled and upon getting other quotes, most of the other quotes were around their previous year's quotes or if more, they were significantly below Nationwide building society home insurance. UK insurance failed to cover a small claim for dental care (even though that have in the past …we pay a reasonably high premium to cover our trip and disappointed that this claim was rejected for a T&C that I have no record of! wasn’t like this in the past …looking elsewhere for 2025 Reviewed on: 25th October 2024
