Not a rational approach to business.

Dear Mr William Carroll, It now seems that Monmouthshire Building Society is no longer a customer centric Building Society. My wife and I have been regular savers with Monmouthshire Building Society over several years currently holding several savings accounts but NO MORE. It seems according to your staff unless you save through your new APP you can no longer open a savings account other than visiting a Branch. So, if you are elderly, like us 78 years of age, live the other side of the country and do not want to save via an App we will be looking elsewhere with one of their competitors who will no doubt welcome our business. Seems to us to be very short sited and certainly not a rational approach to encourage business. Dear Mr William Carroll, Reviewed on: 2nd July 2026

Increased interest on our savings

We increased the interest in our savings by splitting our account into 2 ISAs, a Bond and a Savings account. It only took 1.5 hours. Reviewed on: 27th June 2026

No great points to make

As a saver i find the interest rates paid are lower than average. Also things like annual interest for tax purposes being provided by letters which this year has been delayed many times and still not available at 26th June. Tried applying for a new account late last year and despite being an existing customer had to wait for a letter before the account could be opened on line and which never turned up.
