Review of the Paragon Bank, Fixed Rate Savings Account:

Very poorly trained staff & managment. They are Rude, Incompetant Liars.

Opened account and all seemed well. THEN received a letter asking me to send a current bank statement to confirm that my nominated bank A/c, (Barclays) was my bank. This was the same bank A/c that used to transfer my 65k from? When i queried this I drew a blank so asked to speak to a manager who was also unable to explain - just told me that i had no choice. Not wishing to have complications accessing my rather large amount of money i reluctantly sent it on. Two weeks later rang and asked how long before it get returned and was told that it has been sent(?). Waited another 3 days and no sign. phoned again and told that it had been sent. said i have already been told that and was then admonished for wasting her time if I already knew that!! I again asked to speak to a manager and was told that she would get one would ring me. 8 DAYS later I was called and she told me she had listened to all the phone messages and apologised and told me that because i had been messed about that she will send back my statement by recorded delivery. (Wow, I was so elated. How bloody magnanimous of them). She was also unable to explain why it was needed. just told me it was something to do with security. Anyway, recorded delivery arrived and I immediately transferred my funds out, never to return. Despicable behaviour by a company that you are meant to trust to look after your hard-earned. Nura Aboushagor- was the most helpfull and patient assistant I have ever had

High interest savings rate and good service

A great online bank, quick application process and market leading interest rates. Good customer service on the one occasion I needed to contact them. Reviewed on: 1st December 2018

No communication

I opened an account, transferred d the money, 2 days later it was returned, I called them, they explained the reason, I then went through the process with the representative whilst on the line, 2 days later the money was returned, I did these 3 times, same result. I never got any communication from the bank. What a bunch of plonkers! Reviewed on: 7th November 2018

No idea what's going on

Opened an account transferred the money via my bank received a welcome letter l though it was all going well until l looked at my account only to find all the money was sent back. Had not been told it was sent back. or a reason why l opened a online account with another bank at the same time and have been kept up to date all the time Reviewed on: 6th September 2018

Great customer service

I had no problems opening my account on line, When I changed my computer I needed to update my password. It was all sorted in a jiff by really polite helpful staff great interest rates too. Reviewed on: 26th October 2017
