Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

In the past, I faced challenges with my debts, and the interest kept increasing until I was recommended to contact StepChange. Since that time, my debts have been consolidated, allowing me to make manageable monthly payments. I've had a very positive experience with StepChange.

I've had a very positive experience with StepChange. Being able to consolidate my debts, make one affordable monthly payment and not pay any interest has been a great bonus and enabled me to pay off my debts bit by bit. I'm now nearly debt free, with just a few months to go, and it's a great relief.
