Fantastic all round support from step change

I reached out to step change when I had a massive decrease in income, they were very helpful, they sorted a plan with me contacted my creditors with a payment plan, which they all accepted, this has left me stress free, and an end date when I will be debt free. Get the help you need.

I ended up in a very bad financial mess due to a bereavement and redundant due to Covid. I was very depressed when I contacted step change. After speaking to their advisor the relief was immense. Invaluable help and advice.

I was looking for some advice about my debt situation and decided to contact StepChange after talking to Citizens Advice and reading reviews from other clients. I was not disappointed, it was very easy to get in touch both online (where I was able to send in most of the required information) and by phone when I needed to speak to someone in person.The help and advice they gave me has been invaluable and I am now getting in a position where my debts are under control and I am able to budget for the future. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Very poor level of service. I haven't had a reply to an email or chase ups for almost 2 months. They have said they haven't received payments when they have. Not very helpful when they do respond and I have to send things twice as they hadn't read the original email properly. Records don't seem to get updated. Can't ever get through on the phone either. All in all it's quite stressful so I wouldn't recommend them at all. Reviewed on: 10th June 2026
