This insurance company is a RIPOFF people, BEWARE BE WARNED.

Had a quote last year for £380 good deal I was happy. This year 16 oct 2023 they wanted £480 called them today 36 hours later and they said today £800. Been with this company for so long nearly 50 no convictions 16 years ncb and they treat me like a nobody or a young teenager so had to drive today with no insurance due to them wasting a lot of my time today. Appalling customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service, it took 2 days from reporting the claim to getting a courtesy car, one that was significantly smaller engine and smaller car which led to having to hire my own car, a cost that swiftcover refused to pay, as I was moving from the north to the south of England and couldn't fit my belongings in the 1 litre car that was offered. Spent 2 days receiving non stop calls from repairers and car rescue companies who didn't know what was going on or even where my car was going to be repaired and several hours on hold and speaking to rude, unhelpful staff at swiftcover. I DO NOT recommend this insurance company to anyone. I asked to make an amendment to my policy and they cancelled my policy without any notice (after saying the amendment is fine and that they would send amended documents out, but instead sent a notice of cancellation. If I want to take it out again I have to pay the deposit again!!!!!) They don't return customer phone calls and hold times to speak to someone are very long. They hide their telephone number on their website to make it difficult for customers to call in. They are slow to reply to emails. Very bad experience dealing with this company and have since gone with the RAC who actually provided a much better deal which included breakdown cover. Reviewed on: 27th October 2016

Swiftcover (AXA) AVOID

Online maintenance of a motor policy is what attracted me in the first place, initially with reasonable premiums too. You only really know the quality of an insurer when you make a claim or decide not to renew. My partner made a no-fault claim and this was a very protracted experience, the main problem being you’re not allocated a claims handler, so each communication is always from a different person who doesn’t know (or hasn’t bothered to read) the past history. It was settled in the end but not before my partner opted to take it to court. My own hiked premium this year encouraged me to look at the market. My Swiftcover (part of the AXA group) policy did not include Personal Accident, Legal Assistance, Courtesy Car, etc. but I found alternative cover which included all these for a much lower premium. My main issue occurred when I wanted to cancel at the renewal date (they do automatic renewals). Despite it being an online policy they don’t allow you to cancel online so you have the hassle of calling to discuss. I cancelled the policy and received a confirmation e-mail and took out the new policy elsewhere. At the renewal date I received a text from Swiftcover saying “Good news! You’re Swiftcovered again! Thank you for choosing us again”. I was straight on the case and they had indeed charged the whole premium to my credit card. I see this as pure theft and they refuse to make immediate repayment saying we have a 7-day refund policy!! Again, every communication is from a different person. AVOID AT ALL COSTS or you’ll regret it in the end. Reviewed on: 13th October 2016

I have been with Swiftcover for three years now as they cannot be beaten on price when my renewal is due. I find the online account management invaluable and on the rare occasion I have needed to contact them I have found the process straight forward and the representatives pleasant to deal with. Insured my car via swift over, amazing customer service from start to finish, I had to make a claim unfortunately, but it was dealt with swiftly and with fantastic customer service, I usually change insurance companies each year to secure the best possible price for the same level of cover, this year on my renewal date I continued my cover with them Reviewed on: 28th March 2016
