This is inspite of the fact that this alarm would save Safeguard money if there was an alarm incident. After informing them that I am also furious about the fact that any reduction could only take place at renewal. Only after registering a complaint did they back down and not charge the £30. I agreed to cancel the complaint if the 330 was not applied. I then received a letter from Swinton insurance confirming the above. RIP OFF BRITAIN AGAIN. Read more Read less

When I spoke to them the next day and told them I would not be taking out the insurance with them, they kept £40 of the deposit I had paid advising it’s in their T&Cs! I cancelled my policy within a couple of hours after being told I was going to be charged an extra £200 for cover and was charged a £45 'service fee' from broker Atlanta. They said it was in the T&C's and it was not and is not in your policy sent to me after purchase. They could not locate the 'service fee' premium themselves. Will be complaining to the Ombudsman today and raising a chargeback. At no time throughout whilst on the website was I asked about non accident related claims nor was made aware at the point of purchase that cancelling my policy within 2 hours of the 14 day cool off period would result in losing £45 of my deposit. There is nothing to indicate a retention fee for cancelling during this period - I simply would not have purchased with Swinton Your Customer Service advisor Tanby could not locate the T%C's that stated this especially at point of purchase and could not send me proof of this. She also told me that she had forwarded on a complaint on my behalf for which I would receive an email acknowledgement - clearly this has also not happened. Read more Read less

This is without any claims for over 7 years, I have logged a complaint with the company but they have come back to me with the response below · The overall UK insurance market has seen a rise in the number of claims, and it costs a lot more to resolve them, due to materials, parts and labour being more expensive.; · Some insurers have left the UK home insurance market meaning there is higher than usual demand. These and other factors are having an impact on insurance prices even if you haven’t personally made a claim.
