Pre retirement pension fund down fall

Hi - My pension, with the people partnership continues to loose money, down 3.3% since Christmas 20233 and that's in the pre-retirement fund and it continues to fall. My aim was to draw this fund down until I'm 67 (62 now) but I'm going to have to work a little to bridge the gap now. You tell me that I can pick my own funds, I'm not the financial expert, you are supposed to undertake that role, not me. Poor financial management for those in pre retirement appears to be the case, it’s not good enough. December 2022 £112,342.75 to 27 October 23 £108,669, down to 96.73% of its value How is this helping those in retirement drawing down income annually? Reviewed on: 27th October 2023

Poor Communication

I requested a withdrawal over three weeks ago. They emailed a question which I replied to and asked questions of my own. It took a further week before a reply. They now want all sorts of ID documents which they could have requested on my application. Very poor service and no consistency with point of contact. Reviewed on: 14th February 2023

Reply from The People's Pension Hi Mike, We’re very sorry you had such a negative experience with us. We’re required to perform a whole spectrum of controls and checks before claims can be completed. We are obliged to do so and our regulator demands it, and it’s the right thing to do. Regulators and providers alike exercise a very high level of caution when dealing with the claim of pensions. The process cannot be rushed and we must ensure that everything is present and correct. We must have, for example, all the completed paperwork and documentation that’s been asked for. Impossible to withdraw funds

Despite repeated contact the People's Pension keep saying ' wait 7-10 days'. this is a song they sing and it has no meaning as it has not happened 3 times and they no longer bother to answer emails. I am actually doubting the financial stability of this company now and suspect that they will go into liquidation leaving people high and dry. I wish I could say something positive about them having been enrolled in their scheme but I cannot find anything good. Definitely buyer beware. Reviewed on: 4th December 2021
