Terrible support service

I don’t recommend wasting your time on this—the worst support service I’ve ever encountered. In one week of active correspondence and 10 long emails, I couldn’t get Patrick W* from the onboarding team to tell me what documents were needed to complete the process. I’m serious, this would be funny if it weren’t so sad. Imagine a support team that responds without reading your previous messages, ignoring direct answers to your direct questions. It feels like you’re being trolled or talking to a wall. I’ve collected a series of memes to capture this experience, like: “We must understand that you are conducting a commercial activity, so please provide us with a certificate of sale of the apartment.” (But I didn’t sell the apartment! I clearly stated this in previous correspondence and have already provided all the necessary explanations and documents for my business activity, my business is not related to the sale of apartments and I have already provided documents and given detailed explanations about the origin of funds for my SaaS startup.) My direct and repeated requests to switch to another “specialist” were ignored. Think carefully and read reviews (especially bad ones, as they are usually honest) before trusting someone with your hard-earned money. Listen to your intuition. Otherwise, at best, you will waste a week of nerves and give your documents into the hands of unknown people, which do not inspire confidence at all. Reviewed on: 14th July 2024

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME TIDE HAS CLOSED MY ACCOUNT FOR ABSOLUTLY NOTHING, I HAVE SUPPLIERS THAT NEED PAYING AND ALSO STAFF WAGES. THIS IS CRITICAL WHEN BUISNESS BANKING, this company does not understand that they are no help in the chats and even less help oink email or phone. one day internet banking will be sufficient however at this point in time I regret my decision to use tide all together, my advice for people that are going to give tide a go, just don't do your research more than i did and don't take the risk of ''its only a few bad reviews'' if this happens to you you'll also have 6 staff members asking why they haven't been payed for the month and all walk out of work for something tide has done, time will tell but this has destroyed my business. bank has now been closed for over 6 days. no incoming or outgoing money can be got from the account. DO NOT USE TIDE BANK

Tide have unlinked my bank account from my app and I have no way of logging in. My bank acc has a healthy positive balance and I can't access it. Their chat is overloaded (which you can only access through app) and emails are not being responded to. Reviewed on: 11th March 2024

This is the worst bank ever.

This is the worst bank ever. We are a small buisness and opened an account a year ago. We work on a contractual basis so as and when we get a client we can deliver our services to. After a year of building our network and word of mouth, we secured our first client and got paid! Excited to get things moving and using the money to get us on visible platforms , we attempted to transfer the funds to one of the named directors of the company.( which they are aware of as I had to list the directors to open the acount) so questioning who the person was when I had to provide proof before opening the account is wild. That will be the beginning of our nightmare, payment was blocked and card suspended. It’s been 2 weeks going back and forth with what appears to be an automated ineffective and scripted customer service. Asking repeated questions of the same things. Asking for proof of transactions , frequency of use with tide (like you can’t see that from your backend), and even to the extent of showing chat conversations with clients ?!!!! I have never , in my 29 years on earth known a bank to ask for chats especially when I haven’t committed or crime or in an investigation. There is absolutely no reason for intrusive , interrogating questions on transactions that small. Claiming they are asking to abide my FCA guidelines. Top banks HSBC BARCLAYS NATIONWIDE , don’t go to those lengths to be intrusive to their customers transactions especially when we’ve given them no reason to. I’ve provided proof of registration , service agreements and invoices. Now they are asking for chats ??? It’s like they are stalling and not trying to fix the situation but making you go round in circles. I have reported the case to FCA. At this junction my business is beginning to suffer and so is my mental wellbeing all in the name of claiming my legitimate money. IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. Left me and children hungry and business closed

I am a small business owner and mother to 7 children, tide has paused my account for no reason, will not call me, the replies by the chat are copy and pasted scripts. Made a complaint which was upheld however still waiting for them to unpause my account. They have left me and my young children without access to money and unable to trade. Very very poor service! Expect continuous audits of every transaction you make

Tide continuously audits customers, requesting contracts and receipts for every single transaction conducted in the last few months. Unless you have a significant in-house finance team to deal with these constant queries, suggest you avoid. Reviewed on: 29th January 2024

Horrendous customer service

Ive had nothing but problems with this company since i opened a bank with them in 2023. But most recently they are just USELESS!!! Messaged about an unauthorised payment and straight away they froze my account leaving me unable to pay my bills or rent. Over a 93p payment. Then the woman i was speaking to just stopped responding. I got a reply from someone else saying i had to order a new card, so basically rather than helping me they let the payment come out anyway, dint adress the actual issue, ive had other payments declined because they froze my account and had to order a new card and wait for it it come then ill have to update all my accounts with this new card. But better than that they now say if you want support or replies from customer service you have to pay an extra 9.99 a month... so basically you cant speak to anyone and if you actually need help you have to upgrade your account again and pay even more. Will be taking my business elsewhere the first opportunity i get! Reviewed on: 15th January 2024
